THIS was exactly my first thought. Cardinals get worst record, Tampa is second, but then they dock the Cardinals the first pick. They should announce the punishment before the season, Arizona might just win 5 games that way.

Honestly, Payton and Loomis couldve talked face-to-face clandestinely in the middle of nowhere in some sparsely-visited, heavily-forested public park or somewhere off the beaten path more then a few times during Sean's 2012 suspension and frankly, unless Goodell has/had some very sharp, clever, equally-cloak-and-dagger PI's or plainclothes-security guys watching them, how in the hell would the NFL or Goodell even know about it other than just basic word-of-mouth speculation, unverified gossip?

Hell, Payton couldve just as easily met Brees, members of his coaching staff, other star Saints players during that same time at different points in out-of-the-way, highly secretive and remote, deep in middle of the woods places during his year-long suspension, and the NFL and Goodell would've been none the wiser unless they had PI's security teams monitoring and analyzing his every move, phone call and travels to such an extent it wouldve made the former GDR's Stasi secret police proud.

I'm not saying it didn't happen. I admittedly would be surprised if it didn't. But it's never been even an accusation, let alone one by a cited source. And that's simply spreading misinformation, which there is way too much of these days. Sorry, but I think some sort of source is needed.

It’s all good. And like I said before, it doesn’t really matter anymore. However, I know that he called Sean more than once(not from his phone obviously).

And I think we all would be surprised that Ole Sean would be able to completely stay away from the team in 2012.
