NFL.com writer Michael Lombardi refers to the Lions after mentioning this quote. Found here...

But really...who has persevered more than our Saints?

1. Katrina = Almost losing our team and our city.

2. Whodats = No other fan base has persevered more than us. 40 years of broken hearts and bad luck.

3. Some of the players here have persevered through so much in their lives as well. Brees with the shoulder injury and finding a perfect fit here and to becoming one of the best at his position. Thomas, Moore, and Colston through not being drafted to very good players. Bush and Shockey through all the criticism. Hargrove through all his hardships. Sharper through all the age talk. The entire defense that has undergone a metamorphosis.

This quote from Napoleon should be a motto for this team and it just fits being a team from New Orleans.

That's nice, but whether or not a hurricane hit us, volcano, glacier, or sharks with lasers, we don't play the game. (and every team has guys on it that have been through crap to get where they are)

If you're talking about noise level or intoxication...then perhaps we could persevere to a new level on Sunday.

You should go into lurking mode, nay-sayer.
