Former Saints GM Randy Mueller: Team Still Lacks Perimeter Threat (1 Viewer)

Olave and Shaheed aren’t good perimeter options? Should we be trying to trade for one of the few better options in the league right now such as Tyreek Hill? Stupid take.

Isn't he more of a possession receiver. Does he stretch the field?
nah he's not even 6 ft tall. He's more of a quick slot receiver than a field stretcher or a possession guy. He's fast and gets good initial separation, and while he does have the second gear to kinda pull away from some guys, he's not got elite speed and with his smaller statue he doesn't do great at going and getting the ball at it's highest point and will not win many contested downfield throws.

You generally want your perimeter guys to be able to get those jump balls.

I like his potential in the slot though.

He's the 2nd fastest rated player on the team in Madden. In all seriousness he's been a career deep threat receiver.
Perimeter guy isn't necessarily only a deep threat. You want a Perimeter guy to get jump balls too, which is where washington falls short.

Shaheed is not an establish perimeter threat. But he's getting there. Also, let's see what A.T. Perry brings to the table.
