I think Foster is a solid enough TE1, but it wouldn’t stop me from drafting and developing his replacement (and that’s if he was healthy, which he isn’t).TE1 need is right up there with WR1. We don’t have any dominant big body receivers like many teams do. We have a solid group of number 2’s but no number 1’s. I’d be plenty happy with Foster being our number 2 for years to come if he had a better compliment than Juwan.
The goal is to get three playmakers on offense, with ideally a couple of them being dual threat guys at QB (passer/runner), RB (runner/receiver), and/or TE (receiver/blocker). Pair that with a dependable WR1, and suddenly your OC is the hottest name in HC circles.
