Gore's name is generally not mentioned in 'Greatest of all times' conversation, but he will retire number 3 all time in regards to total career yards, behind only Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton. A brief list of accomplishments would include 5 pro bowls, 9 seasons with 1K or more rushing yards, and 2 more seasons he only needed about 30 yards to make 1K. After his rookie campaign he had 13 consecutive seasons of 1K or more Yards from Scrimmage (rushing and receiving). Despite never winning a rushing title, or a super bowl, Gore will end with 3 greatest all time rushing career totals. He probably will not be a first ballet HOFer, but I think he should be. He played the position that generally has the shortest shelf life and lasted for 16 years in the NFL. To put his longevity in perspective, when he got in the league, George W Bush was president. His career spanned GWB, two Barack Obama presidential terms, Donald Trump's presidency, and into Joe Biden's administration. Simply remarkable.

Show Gore some love on his way out!

He was a really good back who played a long, long time. What's crazy is that coming into the league he was a walking medical red flag because he blew out his knee twice with the Canes.

Gore was part of one the greatest backfields in college football history. The 2001 Hurricanes had Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, and Najeh Davenport. The talent on those early 00's Miami teams is mind boggling.

Yeah I don't know if he's a first ballot HoFer. If you just go by his stats then yeah he's a first ballot guy but I never really saw him as one of the top players at his position. He was never a dominant force like some of the top RBs of his era like Tomlinson, Ed James, Shaun Alexander, Priest Holmes, Faulk, etc. But he was going to get you around 1,400 total yards and 7 TDs every year. As steady as they come.

I am programmed to hate any player that wears a 49ers jersey. That said, I always admired how long that dude was able to play, especially with his style of running. And yes, it's pretty amazing to wind up 3rd on a list made up of the greats of all time.

This X 1,000,000
I didn’t think he would last long in the NFL when he was drafted. It’s like every year I’d say “this is the year his knees gives out on him”, but it never happened

Great Career. He could be first ballot but it is much less likely with Witten, Brees, and Lynch all being eligible in 2026.

I will be rooting for him to get in.

It's the "Inconvenient Truth". One of my favorites as well

Gore is one of those players who just showed up every day and did his job. Similar to Marques Colston, Gore was and is not a self-promoter. He’s HOF in my book.

Hated the guy (Niners) but respect his talent and longevity. Heckuva player.
