I tend to agree with the mobile QB aspirations. The only other thing I'd like to add to the wish list, since we're wishing for things......I'd like to have some prototypical size. These "smurf QBs" we've been drafting aren't as likely to be franchise material, IMO. Brees was the rare exception, not the rule. Ian Book, Jake Haener, and now Spencer Ratter are all on the smallish side, and likely to be less durable over their careers. It would be nice to see a Josh Allen sized monster take a hard hit, but bounce up and tell the defender "good hit" as he walks back to the huddle to call the next play. Contrast that with scraping the smurf off the turf and sending in the backup QB. The former takes a toll on the defense; the latter gives them more juice.Hard to know. I tend to think they likely will not take a QB at #9 because they only have a first round grade on Ward, but are likely to take a QB at #40 or move up to the late first to take a QB. But, it will probably depend on if Moore thinks that whoever is on the board is a better option than Rattler.
Personally I tend to think that any of the pocket passers in this draft are close enough to Rattler that Rattler has just as good a chance of being successful. But, I would like to take a shot at a guy with mobility because I think Moore could do some cool things with that and I think it's easier to build a team with a mobile QB these days.
With that said, I don't want to pre-judge someone unfairly. Maybe we strike gold a second time with a Brees-sized QB. But I think we're more likely to be successful looking for the next Josh Allen than looking for the next DB9. JMO...
