Nostalgia From the vault: Roast of Buddy Diliberto (long) (1 Viewer)

Great video. Loved the part around the 7:00 mark where it's revealed that John Mecom knew JD Roberts from earlier in life. That explains hire since his wonderful 0-23 record with the semi-pro Richmond team was a perfect resume for the horrible Saints :ROFLMAO:

And then Jim Henderson tells an off-color joke and is hilarious in roasting Buddy.

Spot on.

Vince Marinello gets a little long winded, but he too provided colorful anecdotes.

I recommend this vid to all older WhoDats... to give the younger generation a glimpse into the Old School Saints’ environment. 🤔

:gosaints:

I’ll have to watch when time allows. Thanks for posting. He is as much of my life’s memories as a Saints fan as anything else. Countless hours of listening, laughing a and suffering with him and all other old Who Dats.

I was there. It was truly amazing. In a weird but strange twist. I know the guy that bought Buddy D's home and fixed it to his liking. Needless to say, in Buddy's style, it had a wall built in for numerous TV's. One large main TV, with multiple spaces for smaller TV's, all around. Probably had enough spaces for about 8-10 smaller TV;s. Buddy was a special person.

He's been dead for over 10 years. So his travel ban is over. They should put his ashes on the Saints jet and let him ride to all the away games.

I ordered a second hand copy of Buddy’s book off of eBay and found this unexpected signature from the great man. It made my day. We miss you Buddy D!

I have this book and its autographed as well. I bought the book and got it signed by him at one of the Saints practices when they held training camp in Thibodaux. Crazy to think that at the time the Saints winning a playoff was the biggest highlight I thought I'd ever see as a fan.
