Gen Z Slang in Workplace (1 Viewer)

You forget much. There's plenty of stupid in other generations.

I remember scenes removed from movies because of copycat activity like laying in the middle of the road at night.
I didn't say no other generation had stupid people, I said only one was stupid enough to have a tide pod challenge.

I have to agree with you on this one. When we were young "I dare you" usually involved something that would maybe result in a broken bone or a spanking.
As for the tide pod or powdered deterg. in my case, having had my mouth washed out with soap on a few occasions would have given that dare a big fat no. I just feel like we had a bit more common sense.

We weren't motivated by TikTok views and likes.

Kids are more desperate for "likes" this day and age. They're willing to do extremely dumb things to get views and likes and build their social media clout. We did not have SM back then, just a close group of friends/peers.

A few years ago kids were setting themselves on fire by dousing their bodies in rubbing alcohol and a few died. Another challenge involved seeing how long you can survive when hanging yourself with a belt, again I believe a few died.

Anything for likes.

Such beta energy..

I'm an old man. When I was a kid we still did plenty of stupid things to impress our friends, I knew plenty of people that burned themselves playing with fire and alcohol and the like. I knew a handful of people who died growing up from doing some stupid stuff.

Kids being kids is nothing new. Their frontal cortex is not fully developed. Social Media isn't the driving force behind this behavior (tho it's bad for teens in a LOT of ways) and I know for a fact plenty of parent sugar coated how their children got injured to same them the embarrassment (or the kids lying to their parents about what happened.)

Now with video cameras and kids recording themselves, there is evidence that cannot be denied.

But rest assured, kids did plenty of absolutely ignorant stoopid stuff to hurt themselves LONG before social media.
