Giants sign Saints CB Paulson Adebo to a 3-year, $54 million deal (62 Viewers)

I said it before & for the sake of repeating myself..

With the 9th pick in the 2025 NFL draft the New Orleans Saints select..

Jahdae Barron.. DB University of Texas!

.. i'd wager a years worth of income over this.. especially now that the Saints have a DT over this mornings deal.. the pieces are falling into place.. happy for Adebo, but even happier for the Saints, when they get Barron some serious, younger, less expensive holes are going to be filled IMMEDIATELY.. they can't screw this up..

NW.

He is so hot and cold. Just when I think he is turning the corner, he regresses. There is still hope for him.

It's certainly possible that what I thought was the light going on for him in the Slot was just a hot streak and he would return to having issues. But, I agree that there is still hope for him. Maybe a new scheme with new coaches can get the best out of him. He has a lot of pure talent.

This definitely brings CB into play in the first couple rounds of the draft. We become razor thin when an injury eventually hits AT, KAM, or Umadi. The one big positive to the DA experience has been our CBs and their development, so hopefully we can maintain that success.

I could also see us being a player in FA at CB. It's just that important a position.

CB, edge rusher, and WR all seem like potential needs in the first couple rounds of the draft.

We are likely going to sign 2 or 3 guys for that price as free agents this off season so they could have done it. And Adebo would be our #1 or #2 CB had we signed him with either Kool-Aid or Taylor on the other side and in the Slot.

But, yes, we do have needs at CB now. Although I did like what I saw last year, I can't see Rico Payton staring on the outside or in the Slot.
Rico Payton is exactly who I was going to mention, actually.

I called for lots of good things for him last season in the “bold predictions” threads but the lineup of CBs in front of him made playing time difficult to establish. I’d like to see if he can take the next step and prove himself to be valuable in Staley’s system.

I did like how Payton played last year. But I guess I see him as more of a man CB and we are going to play less of that. But, I'm certainly no expert so maybe Payton fits the system great. But I do think it would be a bad idea going into the season with Payton penciled in as a starting outside CB or Slot. So, I think we need to add a CB or Slot in free agency or the draft.

Make ‘em earn it, I say.

CB market is taking the lead this offseason. Deals already:

Jaycee Horn - $25m/yr (Panthers)
Carlton Davis - $20m/yr (Patriots)
Paulson Adebo - $18m/yr (Giants)
DJ Reed - $16m/yr (Lions)
Jourdan Lewis - $10m/yr (Jaguars)
Isaiah Rodgers - $7.5m/yr (Vikings)

Not CB's, but I also see a few guys from SR wish lists off the board. Haason Reddick (Buccaneers) and Milton Williams (Panthers Patriots) have found new teams.

I want Hufanga from 49ers. He's the only guy I'd be disappointed if we didn't get.

I would definitely say CB now becomes the #9 pick now. I knew we did not have the cash to sign Adebo. With the money being throw around I thought he was actually going to get paid more

4 year $60m was the rumbling I was hearing on him before today, so that 3 year $30m did seem kind of low.
