Giants sign Saints CB Paulson Adebo to a 3year/$54 million deal (131 Viewers)

Really odd that he took comparatively so little
[wrong numbers misapplied by Rapoport earlier]
when compared to the Jimmy Horn contract.

I'm torn because I think he was a good young player with lots of potential, but he also committed a lot of penalties that can cost you in close games. I also don't know if he was a good fit for the new system.

Oh well, that keeps CB on the list for the draft. But hopefully Kool-Aid and Taylor will be better in the new system. But, I really hope they can find an outside CB so they can move Taylor back to the Slot.

It looks like Taylor will play outside in base and inside in Nickel similar to what he did last year. They'll probably add someone who can man the outside when he kicks inside.

That player will be a role player...likely why they didn't sign Adebo or perhaps Kool-Aid will be the outside Nickel when Taylor kicks inside and they'll find a cheaper starting outside CB.

Taylor's versatiilty gives them options. He's another guy who's explosiveness should be put to better use from off-coverage.
From the sounds of it they’re looking at Alonte as playing the “Star” position, basically just putting him all the over the field in different positions from CB to Safety to LB

He'll be utilized similar to Ramsey in 2021 I'd like to think.

544 Snaps at Outside CB
325 Snaps at Slot CB
131 Snaps in the box
30 snaps as an edge rusher
6 snaps as a FS.

Alontae seems like someone you can expand on in the Edge Rush snaps department and because you're base defense will technically be Nickel....he'll probably have more Slot snaps than outside but when you're playing 3-4/4-3 he'll be outside.

Happy for him that he got his bag, but am thrilled we did not overpay to keep him -- good guy, and could make some impact plays, but also delivered so just so many killer DPI and holding penalties that I was more than prepared to move on.

I wouldn't mind Taylor as a safety.
