Giants sign Saints CB Paulson Adebo to a 3year/$54 million deal (269 Viewers)

Really odd that he took comparatively so little when compared to the Jimmy Horn contract.

I'm torn because I think he was a good young player with lots of potential, but he also committed a lot of penalties that can cost you in close games. I also don't know if he was a good fit for the new system.

Oh well, that keeps CB on the list for the draft. But hopefully Kool-Aid and Taylor will be better in the new system. But, I really hope they can find an outside CB so they can move Taylor back to the Slot.
I'm mostly with you on this one.

He's a good character guy who overcame the impact of the pandemic on his college career to be a really solid player for us. Injuries bit almost everyone in a Saints jersey last year, so that's no knock on him personally.

This could bump CB up in the priority list for the draft.

This will probably give us a 4th or 5th round pick next year, depending on what they do on free agency.

I think we may be fine with Kool-Aid and Alontae in the outside, but we really need a nickel cornerback. Things have not been the same since Gardner-Johnson left.

Good for him and I hope he returns to form after that gruesome injury.

The Defense is going through an overhaul with the new scheme. We need to get used to some players not being here anymore.

That should net us a decent Comp pick.

Well, the next important question to ask is, what round comp pick will we get in return for his contract?

Thought about this the other day actually…I’d be shocked if we don’t offset our comp pick(s) this particular off-season. We plan to be active and aggressive so I’d be shocked if we stayed away from comp pick free agent types, and Adebo may possibly be our only one lost.

I wouldn't mind Taylor as a safety.

I could definitely see that as a good option. I just thought that he was playing really well in the Slot last year before they moved him back outside. Maybe he just needed to adjust back outside, but he just hasn't impressed me when he played outside CB.

But, Safety or Slot both seem like good options for him. Either way, we need to add another CB to start in the Slot or outside and we need to find another Safety to start (Will Harris is a free agent) and a good young player to either take over for Tyrann this year or next.

I was hoping that if he left he would get in the range of $15 to $20 million to improve the comp pick. We might not even get one now at that number if we add an equivalent contract which we likely will.

Anyway, I wonder if it was the injury or his history of penalties that cut his price to $10 million AAV?

I think both factored into his AAV.

Idk about that. He was pretty awful in the pass game. He was picked on pretty much every game and lead our team in completion %, yards given up, catches, and missed tackles.

Tough year from Taylor in the slot and boundary.

His market value is what it is. Sigler was wrong as usual. Sad part is even at his realistic salary, we were still probably priced out of it.
