By the way and just my opinion, streaming content has been kicking the silver screen’s arse for the better part of 5 years now, at least. My family and I still enjoy a night out at the movies, but this year, the only movie that had any decent crowd was Deadpool and Wolverine. Now this was in Ohio, so take it with a grain of salt.

I agree, and I feel like TV shows have been superior for 10-15 years now.

A critic previously mentioned that the movie lacked an “emotional punch”, and I completely agree. It was definitely a big production, however it felt rushed and I could never really feel a connection with the characters. Didn’t really care if they lived or died.

It was like a Gladiator movie written be the producers of CSI!

Haven't seen the new one, but the best way I can think of to show how good the first one was is that pretty much everyone overlooked Ridley Scott trying to pass Russell Crowe off as Spanish

I have 2 gladiator tattoos ( new one this week) so I was pumped for this

It was ok. The nostalgia was great and references to maximus was great but it didn't lean hard enough into the Lucius maximus angle ( and the mom) Connie Neilson phoned it in. And we needed juba to show up.

The hound don't get enough screen time either

Did you like Denzel's performance?

He was fun i guess. Nothing earth shattering. I enjoyed the emperors ridiculous performance the most i think.
