Gleason misquoted by HBO (1 Viewer)

Well of course they did, too bad its already out there and everyone believes it.(sans most Saints fans) I can't wait for the season to start.

What's even more troubling is now the media is trying to paint is a "Gleason not wanting to look like he is critisizing a franchise that has done so much for him"

The only people who were affected by the speech were those who were already preconditioned into a state of faux outrage by the media.

I can't wait for all of this to be behind us. This just proves that you can't fix 'stupid'. Then again, that being the case, this may never end! :covri:

LOL at "a state of faux outrage" and "you can't fix stupid!" :hihi:

True dat! There's a hellalotta faux and stupid in the media and their lemming followers.

The pattern continues:

1. Story/evidence comes out painting the Saints as evil/guilty.
2. Saints haters take it as gospel and tell us to take off our tin foil hats, shut up and take our punishment.
3. Soon after, the story/evidence turns out to be twisted and not at all what it was purported to be.
4. Saints haters go right back to the "CBA doesn't require evidence" card.

And somehow we're the deluded ones...

I knew the original report did not pass the "smell" test. It did not fit Gleason's character. Too bad the media is dead set on making controversy out of nothing. As long as it sells, truth doesn't matter.

That being said, Gleason's quote, now that we have the proper context, implies that Pamphilion was ALSO not outraged or surprised by GW's speech in the moments after the speech, presuming he was one of the people in the group that Gleason was referring to. Guess all of Pamphilion's grandstanding ever since he released the tape was manufactured outrage.

This must not be overlooked and the fact that he went against Steve's(a man trying to enjoy what time he has left) wishes and released the tape, im too angry to even finish my statement, just wow. Special place in hell for this guy.
