Classic. I was in the Dome on the last Sunday of the 1979 season when the Saints played the Chargers in the late window after the Falcons won earlier in the day knocking the Saints out of the playoffs. Ike Harris dropped a wide open bomb on Saints first or second play and Fouts and Chargers reeled off five, yes, five, 70 plus yard drives in the FIRST HALF, to go up 35-0 which was the final score, I think. Paper airplanes rained down from the upper decks the whole game. Moral of the story, play well enough to clinch on your own.
By the way Saints were favored by 4.5 in that game.
