We need to suck this year and just eat the cap hit if we want to have any chance at being competitive in the next five. If we kick the salary cans down the road again for aging vets, we will never dig out of this hole. Eat the cap, retire some vets, then come out with a clean(er) slate in 2026.

I promise Kellen, I won't hold it against you if we go 3-14 in 2025. I gotchu.

I agree. Don't jump to conclusions if 2025 sucks which is expected with the cap hit we have to eat. But look out 2026/2027. High draft picks, young team, low cap. I don't think he'd have taken the position if he wasn't thinking the same.

I’m sure a lot of Bronco fans were upset that Payton didn’t come in and instantly have a playoff berth his first season. He had to go through a high dollar veteran at QB, who wasn’t his guy and other factors similar to where the Saints are now with the roster. I’m sure they were a lot happier this season though. Lots of parallels can be drawn from that lesson to us.

Been waiting for it to end since we lost to the Falcons. It was clear by then the organisation didn't have anything to stop the slide. Very frustrating season.

This season is likely gonna be worse record wise if I had to guess but it will be a better ride overall. Simply if for nothing we finally are going into a season with no expectations and no illusions of grandeur.

As a fan I am just looking forward to watching Saints football. We will be developing a completely new identity. We have pressed eject on the Sean Payton Drew Brees era and it’s time to start a new one. Might be good might be bad either way it’s something new and there is no pressure to win, all we have to do is grow and improve as the year goes on.
