Good Win! buttt... (1 Viewer)

I never saw them go into a prevent. As a matter of fact they went and played some press corner at the end. We ran the ball in the second half more. When you have a lead like that. It is what you want to do. It gave our line some confidence.
We were going to go for a 4th down in the second half. One of those dumb 12 penalties stopped us. That was an indication that they wanted to keep going. The penalties were horrible. That is not winning football. It was mostly presnap.

I thought the offensive playcalling got a little too conservative later in the game - which analytics probably supported - but then they took the deep shot to Olave.

I don’t love prevent defenses but this was such a lopsided game that a slow ending of forcing the other team to consume time isn’t a bad strategy. It’s terrible in a close game, though.
I was out of pocket and tuned in later in the game and missed the whole thing so saw what you saw. From where I tuned in looked vanilla and pedestrian. Seemed like Patriots lost, with all the turnovers and points off turnovers, than Saints won with offense.

Outside of adding more motion, healthier Carr, and less stupid plays. It didn't feel the offense didn't change a whole bunch besides playing a way worse team.

Granted... it takes weeks for those kind of changes to happen. It's definitely a process moreso instant gratification.

We'll see how next week shake out.
Next week is another bad to below average team.

Jags will be our next real test imo.

I wanted to see the offense keep the pedal down! Use this game as a scrimmage to keep working out the kinks. While I will say this was an improvement, I'm not ready to say their woes are in the past. I will say I did not get to see the last of the fourth quarter as CBS went to a "more competitive game". I know they went conservative before that it seemed. Saw where Winston came in, but no passing stats listed.

Much better game but I believe that we left points on the field because of either offensive play calling or Carr decision making. If we want to be a legitimate playoff team, we will have to capitalize on those opportunities. That said, this game is something to build on offensively.
What exactly is your issue with Carr? The day he got injured, you made a snarky comment about how "X Rays show no evidence of any heart".....which I'm going to guess resulted in a temporary ban since both you and the post disappeared shortly thereafter. Was it just a matter of incorrectly thinking you were being funny that day, or do you have some reason for harboring such venom toward Carr?

Offense needs to produce more this was hopefully a jumpstart game.

Things I notice :
Carr isn’t your underneath/ middle of the field QB. Carr loves to air it out that’s against everything we’ve ever did in Sean’s O which we still run, probably why it’s so stale.

We need production from the TE position

Oline had to build on this game they weren’t perfect but better

Carr has to get on the same page w the Wrs

All of this is quick fixes except the Oline

I still would like to see the attitude of the coaches change to a more aggressive approach of finishing a game. I'd like to see a no prevent defense and a finish the game attitude from
the offense. Something to just take the will out of the other team. DA got too conservative. You can't win against good teams with that mindset. Again a good win.
How is "buttt" pronounced?

I watched the game yesterday and we still have a long way to go on offense, but it was slightly better. Agreed
