GREAT Saints summary by Duncan (1 Viewer)

So we're a getting better with exp. drafting I assume. The small school selections, do u all think that our scouts are just that good at finding gems or was it just an experiment that failed therefore they learned their lesson? In other words was Colston just luck?
It's kind of what I said in my previous post, we got lucky on 2 small school guy in 2006 (Colston and Evans), in 2007 Payton went crazy selecting 4-5 small school prospect and none of them has been any good. Last year, we took none. I think Payton has learn his lesson, you can't be lucky every time.

I always thought the Saints should have traded their first round pick in 07 to the Niners (what the Patriots did right after us). You know they at least called. I guess the Saints felt at the time Meachem was too good to pass up. I hope they are still right.

How many times needs to be reminded that in order to have playmakers, retreads shouldn't be considered drafting!....JD, KK the so called middle of the road FAs are just not good enough to have much impact, if any.....bringing in a playmaker like Daren Sharper will go a long way and he alone will make a huge impact in this depleted Saints secondary....

This is probably one of the best Jeff Duncan summary of the state the Saints find themselves.....and it isn't over yet! We still have 2 slow DEs to deal with......man, I wish Jason Taylor signs with us somehow....then at least we would have 2 legit pass rushers, and we could substitute both Grant and Smith on passing situations....

But more importantly.....this article is the clearest indication why we need to try to draft MJ.......as of now we have 3 legit CBs on the roster, we desperately need at least one more!
