Gregg Williams could join Saints as early as today(Speculation) (1 Viewer)

I wonder how far this whole Titans thing actually goes?

At least with us you know he interviewed, you know he left happy, and you know we are the frontrunners for him.

With the Titans is it all just pure speculation with nothing to back it up? Could be.

Per rotoworld, Williams will not sign with another team until the Schwartz situation is resolved in TN. That sucks... sounds like if Schwatz doesn't go anywhere we are his top choice... if he does, he will probably end up back in TN. Or at least it will cost us a lot more to sign him...

I don't like the whole Titan thing for either side.

The Titans will probably have to spend a lot of money to land Williams. It seems like the structure and players are in place there for a hot shot up and coming DC to blossom.

For GW, he has nothing to gain by going back to the Titans. They are already a solid defense and they can either stay the course or regress.

The Titans don't need GW to stay a great defense.
GW doesn't really benefit much from taking the Titan job.

On the other hand, if he turned around the Saints defense, he could just about get a blank check for his next HC job.

Interesting thoughts here. Are you considering though that he might long for a return to Nashville? What makes people happy sometimes trumps all.

Thats true, Nashville is a very cool City. I'd have no problems raising a family there for sure.

I lived there in the mid 80s. It definitely has seen its better days though. It's gotten so big and the crime has risen quite a bit. Some areas of town can get you killed for simply being of a differing race.

Wow, didn't know it had gotten that bad. Thats a shame. What I saw was clean, well manicured, and quite charming.

If this is the case, the saints should be smart to bring Dave McGinnis and Jerry Gray for interviews. The sooner, the better. These guys are very close to Williams in their style and I am sure they both will be coordinators somewhere this season.

Belle meade and Henderson, Franklin etc. still are, just some of the former areas have now been brought down... Brentwood comes to mind.

If Williams is waiting on the Titans situation, then it won't be resolved until late this week / early next week. The Lions are still interviewing coaches into late this week. Per NFLN Spagnuolo is going up there Friday.

The Titans situation is pure speculation. Also, Dave McGinnis will get promoted to DC there, he's earned it.

I'm not buying just yet......but granted this has been the typical way Saints fans get breaking news about their team. In this case as a byproduct of the Pack's own DC search. I hope it's true. Then DC will be settled and Williams can get to job of evaluating current players and then what personnel he wants to bring in.......

True, but either way, since we would need Viking's permission to interview Frazier for the same position, and since that is unlikely, I hope Detroit makes Leslie Frazier their head coach, in effect ending the possibility of Shartz going there.
