Way back in the day, I was in middle school we had a Bad flood on the westbank, known as the May 3rd flood.. then a few years later when in High School there was I Know it was in april, but thinking it was the 4th , but not sure. I know for sure the prev. was may 3rd.. then nothing for YEARS.
look at the midwest floods, a few years ago.. bam out of nowhere., then the last year or was it this year. bam again.
betsy was in 65, camile in 69 , but then really was till katrina before a major one in that area.. maybe had a couple small of note, again a few years apart in gilbert and juan.
katrina, 2005, now 3 years later. 2008 bam.. gustav,
these are major events,, that stand out of the norm that don't repeat for many years, but 3 or so years apart. occurring.
and what was strange, i remember as a kid, they always mentioned about hurricanes getting stronger in the "warmer" gulf.. but when looking at the global map, the gulf looks to be generally not as intense as off the east coast of florida?
