Comes out next year, it may be corny as hell, but I'll def check it out since I've played Halo from the get go...

Dammit, I had almost convinced myself to cancel Paramount+. Guess I'll have to hang on to it for a bit longer.

Love Halo, but <1% chance this is good

looks.. okay, I guess. I don't know everything about halo etc, but the line about spartans are "upgradable" seemed a little off to me.

The series also supposedly takes place in a "silver" timeline, which is similar, but different than the timeline/history of the games

“The Silver Timeline is a unique vision of the Halo universe that contains and embraces many key elements of the core canon that has spanned the last two decades,” the explainer continues, “but with relevant contextual and narrative details that diverge in ways appropriate (and necessary) to the storytelling opportunities presented by the TV medium and our collaboration with creative partners.”

Yeah, I'm def going to check this out...

Is anyone watching this?

I actually am, I think it's a good enough show but it's not spectacular I'm not sure what paramount will be thinking of the reception but if it was on a network like The CW then I think people would treat it less harshly. Most of the criticism I see online is that there isn't enough action (which is true so far), Master Chief taking off his helmet too much which makes sense for a TV show so I don't mind, and then the rebel storyline particularly the main character in that arc being insufferable which I actually agree with to a point.

I've seen quite a bit of the story stay true so far, with the exception of the Madrigal rebels. I know the Spartans on John's team are not the Spartans from the books so . . . Let's hope there is something about to happen.

I am, I'm enjoying the departure from what I've been used to w/ the games and the creation of a new version of the VG franchise... I didn't know that there are books though...

There is a whole Halo Universe out there. Not nearly as many as Star Wars or Star Trek but, they are awesome.
