When that line came out about them thinking he was a first ballot HOFer, that’s about when I pretty much knew that he and his agent were trying to create a market to get a competitive offer versus the Saints and/or apply pressure.

It was phony. Suddenly adding Carolina late to the process in Indy was also a strong tell for me.

Great insight into the courting of Carr and why he picked the saints. Impressive team effort to get him to sign from coaches to players. Surprised how highly they speak of Pete Carmichael. I am looking forward to next year.

Just goes to show that ML is playing chess while most are playing checkers. He makes an offer to LV to get Carr to come for a visit FIRST. Pretty much knowing that he was not gonna accept the trade. Made him a good offer and said " Go take a FA trip". Then never let DC go without making sure he knew he was OUR guy. ML making it happen
