Has Brandin Cooks cry for targets changed your opinion of him? (1 Viewer)

Considering he has exactly the same amount of TD's and yards and I believe catches that he did in this exact week last season....

Considering his QB, coach, and teammates have to address this in the media...

Considering he is in reality questioning his QB's decision making...

Considering the Rams took him away as part of their gameplan and this allowed everything else to work...

Considering we won the ******* game by a large margin....

Considering he was double and triple covered every damn play and wasn't open...

Yeah, it changes my opinion of him. Cooks, shut the **** up. Drew Brees won a Superbowl and has made Dollar Tree Bargain Bin WR's look all pro. The only time he has a bad game is when he eye ****s a Jimmy Graham or a particular WR and gets away from going to the open guy. You don't like it, get the **** open, make someone miss.

This reeks of jealousy of Thomas. Period.

You become a squeeky wheel cry baby ***** who wants to play selfish pouting diva, ask Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham how that worked out for them.

Worst post ever. We are just now getting to the point where we have replaced Jimmy. Why do you guys insist on getting rid of talent?

No one noticed more than me

Multiple threads, news articles, tweets, and statements about it from coach in his presser.....I think plenty of people, who are not you, noticed it in a big way.

He's young. He'll learn. Or he won't. It's not about the mistakes you make but how you rebound from/respond to them. Let's see what he does before we go changing our minds about him. He's a phenomenal player and I'd prefer not to disrupt the threat that the trio (Cooks, Thomas, Snead) provide our offense on a weekly basis.

From the day he arrived in New Orleans, Brandin Cooks struck me as a young man who was humble and ready to work his tail off. That has paid off as he has blossomed into one of the Saints biggest weapons. However, for the first time I remember he wasn't even targeted in the game against the Rams. No one noticed more than me because he's on my fantasy team and from the people sitting around me he was on theirs too. My attitude is as long as the Saints win fantasy comes second.

Of course Cooks voiced his displeasure on Instagram and Sean Payton himself was asked about it to which he said he's "not concerned." Yes the NFL is a business and I believe Cooks when he says he wants to help the team win. But he has to realize that forcing the ball to him won't help the team especially given his size. As long as Michael Thomas is getting the ball and establishing himself as a weapon in his own right he'll start to get more attention and it'll only help Cooks because you can't double everybody...Stay humble Brandin!!!! I wouldn't want to see you get traded because the front office believes that you're becoming a diva WR.

No, this doesn't change my opinion of him. Listen, he's young and human. He's worked his butt off since he was drafted here and you can tell he wants to compete.

Of course I'm not pleased with him crying out through social media and it's frustrating to see it after a big team win, but look at his body of work since he's been here.

Let's see if he learns from this going forward and I know I'll be rooting hard for him and the team every week.

To be honest, it did a little. I'm not a fan of players taking their grievances to social media, which then create weeklong drama stories in the media. I didn't think Cooks was someone who would ever do that, but he did, and doesn't seem sorry that he did, so yeah, my opinion is a little different. But I'm not actively trying to dislike him, and I don't think he's a problem that we need to trade away. I hope that we can use him in a way that contributes to us winning, and I also hope in the future he doesn't take issues that should stay in-house to Instagram, causing everyone from Payton to Brees to have to answer questions about his "frustration."

I wish you could talk directly to all our players. Some of your goodness would certainly wear off on them.

It wouldn't have bothered me if he discussed it in private. Any professional that discusses professional grievances in social media effects my opinion of them. That's not the place for it and just creates a distraction. Leave social media for the Kardashians. Handle your business like a businessman.

Not really, but I would take a 2nd rounder for him

I dont think we can take this one time and call it a problem. In these days of social media being crazy popular, and fantasy football being crazy popular, player's kinda can't help being a bit selfish. He has to hear from millions of people how he didn't catch a ball. I'm sure he regretted the post and it was a knee jerk reaction to criticism. Don't think it'll be a problem.

First, he hasn't cried, at all. Its been blown WAY out of proportion by talking heads and nobody's talking about something they have no insight or awareness of, so be proud that you are here doing the same thing...

Second, I bet most folks on this site was far more whiny and full of complaints about whatever job you had at age 22-23, so let's get some perspective on this "issue" that will go away before we know it, shall we?

A WR that wants the ball more? What kind of role model would do that?

Imagine if that attitude was taught to a young receiver.

Maybe

He could of picked a better week than the week the Saints scored the most points in the NFL this year.

Not really, but I would take a 2nd rounder for him

And that would be the worst trade of all time for the saints. Why do people post this garbage? Have you ever noticed how many double teams he requires. Without him on the field our offense isn't nearly as good. I will never understand why saint fans always want to get rid of our best players. You don't win by trading away talent much less young talent. You sound like Jim Haslett.

I don't want to get rid of him, I didn't want to get rid of Stills, and I didn't want to get rid of Graham.

But we have a coach who carries grudges and will get rid of a squeaky wheel. Just ask Graham and Stills.

when the game was over, Cooks addressed his frustration to Brees in the lockerroom before they even got out of their pads. Taking it out of the locker room and onto social media was done by him... not some reporter. HE caused this. And he needs to be put in his place and stop acting entitled and learn what team means.

I think the Saints have the best WR group in the NFL... breaking that up is the last thing I want to do.
