Okay then. Problem solved

Okay then. Problem solved

They solved a problem that never should have existed in the first place.

This company is, from a creativity and innovation standpoint, dead. They just keep iterating the same over priced Fisher Price toy phone to their cult-like audience and making bizarre changes to get attention.

Honestly, I could go either way, but I ask the board this. I have a pair of skull candy plug in headphones and a set of Otium Wireless headphones. The quality on the SKs is much better than the Wireless headphones, but the Otiums are some of the better ones on the market. Is this normal for the sound to be of poor quality on Wireless?

Pretty much, disclaimer, I'm kind of a stickler for sound quality but I have never found a wireless set that I could tolerate. They almost inevitably have some sort of low frequency drone and limited high frequency range. I have multiple pairs of $8-10 wired headphones that beat the Jaybirds and such to a pulp.

Okay then. Problem solved

The problem I see with the dongle is it's going to place a lot of stress on that port, because the plug is essentially flat and thin that's a structural weak point. I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to break that cord, and that's if they're lucky enough to only break the cord and not the lightning port itself.

Soooo wrong.....yet soooo right. I find myself conflicted...

and since you asked, the taco headphone pouch looks useless.

I use the below method and after you have done it a couple of times, it is really fast and I never have tangled wires. I use it for chargers, computer cables and extension cords as well.

To avoid tangles, I pull the part of the cord with the jack through the mess first, and usually the clips fall free untangled. I used to plug in the jack and then spend the nest 5 minutes untangling the buds.

I have a pair of over-the-ear Philips headphones I found on Amazon Prime for 6.81. They're perfectly serviceable (great for running) and if I break them, well, they're only $6.81. I tried God knows how many different types for 10x the price and the sound quality was bad, they fell out of my ear while running, etc.

I'm no Apple fanboy but I don't know if that's entirely fair. The iPhone does see modest improvement through the iterations - but most of the major innovation on the smartphone has been done. We're just not in that part of the cycle anymore. Is anyone else innovating at some dramatically higher level? I read that removing the headphone jack allowed for what they wanted to do with improving the camera and battery life . . . and making the phone a bit slimmer. If that's true, it's hardly a bizarre change intended to get attention.

Where the company appears to be doing it's real work is in the future of medical wearables. Yes, right now the Apple Watch is little more than a gimmick device but they are committed to it and it isn't crazy to think of a future with wearables as our primary IT devices instead of hand-held. But the medical aspect of it is certainly interesting and Apple seems to have a vision of future medical care and medical research based, in part, on a wearable device that communicates directly to the owners' medical providers to track conditions or alert of deviations that could indicate coming problems - or give vital early warning to serious, acute attacks. If that comes to fruition, it completely revolutionizes how individuals and medical providers work together to manage the individual's health. Owners could also agree to share this information with medical research - I know someone working in medical research and he thinks that it would be revolutionary.

Depends on the headphones. Generally, I prefer wired, but I recently bought a pair of bluetooth SoundPeats from Amazon for $20. I wanted the freedom of wireless for working around the yard, going to gym, etc..., but didn't want to spend big bucks on something I figured would get destroyed by using in that environment. SoundPeats had great reviews and for $20 how can you go wrong?

Boy was I surprised. I'm no audiophile, but I do have some AKG and Sennheiser studio quality corded headphones for use in my recording studio. The bluetooth SoundPeats are nearly on par with the AKG and Sennheisers, but they are $100 & $150 headphones. When considered as "bang for the buck" the bluetooth SoundPeats are probably the best headphones I have ever owned!

It's all subjective, I guess, but passing it on for anyone else who cares to check it out.

Helpful.

I never need to charge my phone and listen to music at the same time, at least not when using their ear buds. Usually when i'm listening to music i'm working out, doing yard work or have it connected via a blutooth speaker. However, i will admit you do raise a valid concern/question.

Also, If i'm driving down the road in my car, then the apple lighting adapter i use for my radio will still charge the phone and play music through it radio's ipod integration feature.

Let me translate this...

I like giving my money to Apple. They tell me how and when I can use my phone and I adjust my lifestyle accordingly. You raise a valid question, I'm sure Apple will answer it for me.

Am I precluded from answering this because I have never had an iPhone and don't plan on starting now?

I have bluetooth headphones and I like them, but most people I see are still wired.

I bought the same SoundPeats from Amazon and I was amazed. They are cheap, light, don't fall out of my ears and the sound is just as good as any earbuds I have ever used. I, like you am no audiophile, but I can't tell the difference between these and corded earbuds. And, if I wear them while cooking they don't get pulled out of my ears when the cord gets caught on a cabinet door.

Okay - so it took a few months but I have lost my iPhone adapter cable for the headphones jack. And it sucks . . . just like Antipop said it would.

Okay then. Problem solved

My concern with using the adapter on a regular basis would be damage to the lightning port. Not sure if this is an issue.

My issue with wireless headphones is sound sync with videos. On my Samsung using wireless, the sound is never in sync. No problem for simple music listening but terrible for youtube and training videos..
