I just bought a new computer with Vista on it. On my old computer I had Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business designed for Windows NT and Windows 98. I later upgrade to Windows XP and I was able to get through a work home use program an upgrade to Office XP Professional. This upgrade says it is Version 2002 Post-SP3 Update.

Can I load the Office 2000 for 98 on my new computer then do the XP grade and have it work with Vista or do I need a Vista upgrade? I did a google search and some people said it would work and others said that there were problems with Outlook but these responses were almost a year old so I didn't know if things had gotten better.

Sorry to ramble on. Any help you can give will be appreciated.

I loaded Office 2000 Pro on my new Vista laptop and have had no problems with it.

The next step, bumping the Office 2000 up to Office XP...I've done that on a dozen XP machines before without a hitch.

Now, bumping Office 2000 up to Office XP on a Visa machine...hmmm...

Here's a webforum on the subject of Office 2000 and Vista compatibility:
