please remove "trade down"......it is much harder than it seems.

It would be easier to give an answer if you listed all 9 players off the board. Is Long, Long, Mcfadden or Clady available?
Even if it's harder than it seems the thread is about what "should" we do not what's likely going to happen. If they think trading down is what we "should" do then let them vote.

I really like Mendenhall. So, if DOOOOOCE is cut, it may be a good pick. I'd rather draft a DT/LB in the 1st though. Maybe use Mendenhall as trade bait.

I think J. Stewart is the best back in this draft followed by Rice. JMO...

I agree with you on rice, he's a complete back, and will be a phenomenal NFL player. I have no clue as to why he is ranked so lo among the top RB.

I'd go,

Mendenhall
Rice
Stewart
Forte
McFadden

Of course I pick 'trade down'.

But the odds of another team wanting to trade up with those players gone is unlikely. So if no one wants to trade up, I go McKelvin.

He can return, too.

I think they will be many willing partner at the 10th pick, because the gold in this draft is really in the top 15 prospects.

After the top 15, there is still 1st round talent, but the top half of the draft is loaded with day one starters.

I don't agree with that assessment

We take the best availabe corner, there all worthy (Jenkins, McKelvin, Talib)....or they could take Balmer....sorry had to bring him up...its been "speculated" we want him to...just like all the other guys (Rivers, Dorsey, Ellis,)

Payton will take Mendenhall, probably.

But on Aqib talib, he's too slow IMO

He looked like Jason David on that play..but he has GREAT ball instincts, as you see on plays like this

Good man, I like the 2 sides approach. I was tired of seeing that Nelson clip, with all the other ignored! I like unbias posts that show some good and bad because all these guys have both. thats why we are talking about them on internet message boards with first round implications.

Anywasy on to the Poll, I am voting McKelvin. But for the following reasons.

I have concvinced myself Talib will not be there when we pick. I think he is a player that screams Patriots and unless Gholston or Long fall I think they will grab him. Versitle, can play man, can play zone, can play CB can play FS and great size and great ball skills. He just seems like a player they would like because they can throw him into many different roles and they value a player like that. Their is a huge hole in thier secondary, and I think Talib complements that defense with his wide range of skills. They don't really run a strict man - man, or a strict zone, they just throw out alotta different stuff and different looks I think Talib can grow into them all.

Seeing how I think that, I am voting McKelvin. Altho I think DRC will be there when we pick as well, and I am still going McKelvin.

Only because I just don't know about DRC, all I have to go by is one game (sr. Bowl) Where he had a great game, but he didn;t look great during the week leading up to. He looked good not spectuaclar, and also there are no good receivers in this draft that he was covering at the Sr. Bowl. I watch James Hardy from Iowa State (who is alot bigger and more physical) run some nice routes and make good plays over Cromartie in the one on one drills. So I have one game in which he played no one decent. Best receiver in this class is probably Desean Jackson and he was not invitedd because he was a jr. Also the QB's were exactly anything to write home about in the Sr. Bowl. I have seen some film of DRC in shorts and the combine. I like what I have seen, but I just don't have much to go by on him and that dosen't cut it for me, not at 10 overall. I think its the most risky pick in the draft selecting him because he will get a team to snag him with a first rounder and he looks like he could be great, but there is really nothing to base it on. Which I guess is why I don't understand the lovefest on him. No one has really ever seen him play or at the very least go up against top level competition.

i will be hoping for Mckelvin

This may not be surprising, but it is truly amazing how this board is split on who we should draft and why.

This is a sure sign that we are picking in a good spot, with a wealth of talent, and that some fans, will almost certainly see "their" guy drafted.

I'll have to take the best lineman offensive/defensive available.

Even if it's harder than it seems the thread is about what "should" we do not what's likely going to happen. If they think trading down is what we "should" do then let them vote.

If that's the case then there should be an option labeled "trade up". Because that's what I think we "should do".
