This is going to be a hard one (thats what she said) but 2010 offered all Hip Hop fans some of the best Lyrics from some familiar faces
Curren$y
Kanye
Pusha-t
Eminem
Ricky Ross
*cough cough* Lil Wayne *cough cough sneeze*

And also some newcomers in my favorite rapper now, (no its not Wayne anymore) in J-Cole other new comers include

Big K.r.i.t
B.O.B
Wiz Khalifa
TradeMark
Big Sean

Anyway I'm creating a huge poll (and of course theirs always those who are going to be left out) But if your guy aint in the poll just say who he is, and also a honorable mention

Here is the rules: I'm not talking about what guy sold the most albums or had the best album I'm talking bout who was just plain out Spitting real Hip Hop the whole year!

Jody Breeze, Freddie Gibbs, and K-Rino held it down this year.

2010 to me was the worst year for rap in a long time. This was the first year since like 96 that I didn't buy one single CD. And it's not like I just burnt everything instead, I just didn't like most of what I heard. I'm not real big on Khalifa and Currensy ect. I like gangsta rap Master P, Webbie, Scarface, Gucci. As time goes by I find myself looking into the past for good music that I haven't heard because frankly the new rap game aint doin it for me

eminem brought out a lot of heat last year, but to me it all sounded the same, he raps the same on every song and im getting tired of it, the old him was better in my opinion
kanye brought out one of the best albums last year and thats across all genres, everyone could find a song on that album that they could bump to
To me there was no one that stood out and took over the game, most people had a couple good songs here and there but none of it was consistent, although j cole was probably close to the most consistent
I love lupe but he didnt bring out much as we all know, cause of the drama with atlantic records, still one of the best though

How could you have left off Big Boi or The Roots? Sir Lucious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty doesn't have a bad track on it.

Yeah, there was plenty to love about 2010. I'd say Big Boi, Ghostface, Kanye, and The Roots all put out some pretty great albums in 2010.

Em is back. That's game over for this poll at least.

I liked Em's CD a lot even though a lot of people dislike it. I found it refreshing to hear him over a different type of production.

I've been making myself listen to Lasers to make it grow more on me. I like it but I guess I had much higher expectations.

The one guy I can't quit listening to is J. Cole. The Warm Up is over a year old and I still listen to it and Friday Night Lights is very good as well. I think he probably has the most potential out of everybody on this list (note that Eminem and Kanye have probably reached their potential already).

Big Krit's "krit wuz here" was pretty much uninterrupted, no fast-forward, quality music, with a ton more emotion and "realness" than most of the other guys on this list. My favorite hip-hop album of the year by a mile.

This new age rap sucks. I remember as a kid, back in the mid to late 80's bumping hip hop that would blow all music nowadays out the water. All this rap these days is the same. Its all about cappin some one or pushing up and in some chick. I do like a few artist, Kanye and Luda.

you are right, at least about most of the stuff you hear on the radio. but there's a whole lot of MCs right now that are putting out really good stuff. Atmosphere, The Cool Kids, Jay Electronica, Lupe Fiasco, Slaughterhouse to name a few. its there, but unfortunately most of it doesnt get radio push, so you have to search really hard to find it.

That's a damn shame man. You gotta search for good music. Do they play the good stuff on Sirius? I know there's an old school station.

no idea, i dont have Satellite. its a combination of word of mouth, pandora, mixtape websites, and guest appearances on albums of artists i already know and love.
