I liked Em's CD a lot even though a lot of people dislike it. I found it refreshing to hear him over a different type of production.

I've been making myself listen to Lasers to make it grow more on me. I like it but I guess I had much higher expectations.

The one guy I can't quit listening to is J. Cole. The Warm Up is over a year old and I still listen to it and Friday Night Lights is very good as well. I think he probably has the most potential out of everybody on this list (note that Eminem and Kanye have probably reached their potential already).

Atlantic ruined Lasers IMO.

Eminem had the best album so far. He's the only cd that had me hitting the rewind button.

Kanye - little disapppinted

Wayne - zzzzzzzzzz--except for "Right Above It"

Big Boi- Loved it.

Atmosphere- Getting it tomorrow.

Jay Electronica is next.

My favorite is Wiz Khalifa, but i honestly think the J Cole has been the best so far.

Royce out "spit" everyone on your list except one rapper and he isn't on your list.

Ghost had Apollo Kids and murdered your list.

Can we have a new set of options?

Royce's verse on Remember the Titans is better than everything that anyone on that list put out last year.

Apollo Kids was really good, but i think that when comparing whole albums, Em and Big Boi's albums were the best of the year.

Dom Kennedy dropped an absolute heater in March '10 in "From The West Side, With Love" which can be found here --> http://dopeitsdom.com/site/listen_ftwwl.php . He followed that up with an early '11 release called "The Original Dom Kennedy" which can also be found on his site.

Of course I still hold it down for my personal friend Dee-1 (now on tour!) whose latest mixtape, "I Hope They Hear Me! Vol. 2" is for free download on http://www.dee1music.com He dropped Vol. 1 in April 2010.

Big K.R.I.T. was mentioned, he's another one with back-to-back strong releases, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here in 2010, and Return Of 4Eva in 2011. Both mixtapes get regular rotation in my iTunes.

You can also look up a variety of albums still for free download from Odd Future (http://www.oddfuture.com), a West-Coast collective led by Tyler, The Creator. They're a group of youngsters, but they genuinely seem to care about making quality music and do a good job of it. Some of their releases date back to 2009, but we're picking nits at that point.

Kendrick Lamar's "Overly Dedicated" is another mixtape that delivers high-quality from start to finish. Nipsey Hussle gave us "The Marathon" on which I still don't skip a track. Local artist Dappa's "F*&@k Outta Hea" has some absolute gems. J. Cole was mentioned earlier, his "Friday Night Lights" mixtape was so anticipated it actually made all of mediafire run slowly as people downloaded it in a frenzy.

Anybody who says 2010 sucked musically wasn't looking very hard for good stuff; everything I just listed is available for free download. As for stuff you have to/should/better (wink wink) pay for, Eminem bounced back (relatively speaking; Rehab was trash, but Recovery was pretty good), Nas gave us the Damian Marley collab, Cee-Lo (I know, I know) and his latest solo effort is imaginative as usual, N.E.R.D.'s "Nothing" was swallowed up in the Kanye hype, but worth checking out.

Albums I would ultimately understand if you ignored:

- Waka Flocka's "Flockaveli"
- Ludacris' "Battle of the Sexes"
- anything Big Sean ever released or will release in the future. Big Sean is like hooping terribly in brand-new Jordans.

I like gangsta rap

man, WHAT? :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit:

Drake?

I don't know if I'd pick him, but I think he deserves to be in the poll.

Drake?

I don't know if I'd pick him, but I think he deserves to be in the poll.

I would be hard pressed to put him in the list of Best Hip Hop Artists of 2010.... from Canada

he's brutal...

the square root of 69 is 8 somethin...

:freak7:

thumbs down me all you want, but drake is a pop star. he raps and sings (now with autotune!), but so did Blondie and Wham! and they arent hip-hop. reading lyrics off of his blackberry at a cipher on the corner would get him laughed off the block, so doing it on hot 97 where its become a tradition for guest MCs to spit a freestyle...its a travesty. he could've at least memorized his bars to save face like Wayne does.

Here you go Dan

You're not going to win me over by posting 15-year-old tracks made by a ripoff artist and a newer track by an adult male with an ice cream cone tattooed on his face

This one is only 14 years old
