Hiring Moore = Ashton Jeanty as 1st rd pick? (63 Viewers)

To me, if we want another 2017 draft, we need 2017 assets. A big reason we hit on so many picks is that we had six selections in the first three rounds. We’ve had three drafts since then with less than six picks total.

I’m all for trading to get more top 100 picks.
Yup, it's all about who is there @9. No T-Mac no Graham , no Carter. it's trade down for me and get Warren

On the OL, we have one Pro Bowl player in McCoy and one guy that could develop into a Pro Bowl player in Fuaga. Beyond that we have two disappointing first round picks in Ruiz and Penning. Ruiz is around a league average Guard that is inconsistent at best. He ranges from pretty good to below average depending on the game. Penning is a good run blocker but struggles in pass blocking to the point that you have to give him help with chips or keep the TE in to help him block on far to many plays which limits your offense.

That's not a great OL. It's probably a league average OL which is better than was we had two or three years ago, but it's still not what you need if you want to be a really good team. We could use upgrades at all but two spots and we need a starter at one spot, LG. That's 3/5 of the OL that needs a starter or needs an upgrade. Not to mention that we have no depth if any of those guys miss time.
Penning is a very good to borderline elite run blocker. Yes he does need to get better in pass-pro but this was his 1st yr healthy and with a real OL coach. I think he gets better and becomes a very good RT.

Making any accurate assessment of our OL is next to impossible due to the injuries that the OL had. An OL is all about playing as a unit and except for the 1st 2 games we were never really a unit

Everyone is basing what they think Moore will do on what he's done in Philly. It may be more closer to what he did in Dallas. In 21 he had the #1 offense and scored 530 pts. He had Dak, Elliot , Lamb and Gallup and Pollard
I think he will equate Carr to Dak , AK to Elliot , Olave to Gallup and maybe Miller to Pollard. Now he had a very good OL so he may want an upgrade there , also he had Shultz @ TE so he probably wants to fill that role. Then we draft a big X WR to play the Lamb spot

Philly knows how to build an OL. That’s the reason Barkley went off this year. Look at his time in NY to see the difference between line play and his performance.

Abdul Carter from Penn State or Mykel Williams would be a good fit for the Saints in the first round and Omarion Hampton in the second round. More upside to take a DE in the first round than a RB at the 10 spot. JMO
I really want Carter. Saints have never drafted someone early I wanted them too so it’s a lock they won’t.

I might break my TV if they drafted Mykel Williams. Talk about a physical freak with mush for football brains. He always looked so lost and confused.

I don't completely disagree but I don't think we should act like we have an elite OL and refuse to draft great players or upgrades on the OL. I think that's especially true since we don't know how the new HC will view the guys we have on the OL or if he wants to run a scheme that they don't fit.

Honestly, if Moore gets the job, the RB that fits his O best isnt Ashton Jeanty. It’s actually Omarion Hampton. Crazy how no one seems to ever talk about Hampton. Jeanty had an insane season for sure, but my opinion, i believe Hampton will end up being a better pro. That dude does everything Jeanty does, but w/more size & power. Im not hating on Jeanty, i just like Hampton a bit more.

FWIW, ELIASJWILLIAMS has been a big fan of Hampton for quite awhile. So he has some fans.

As in another QB?
Possibly. It could be nothing but Nick Underhill is spot on. Dart's name just keeps coming up. Unprompted. But it's early so we'll see.
Well the coaching staff that drafted him is gone. So that can easily change moving forward.
True, though it'll all depend on how Moore feels about Rattler.
