Hot Takes Welcome (Post Chargers Loss) (2 Viewers)

You are way off.

Yup, after 6 straight losses, some of them not competitive games, this really rings kind of hollow.....it's also a testament to some of the players who really care.....both the players and the fans deserve better.....

For the first half defense was pretty good, it was great in the first quarter

I thought getting guys back from injury would lift the team

I had a bad feeling when we got the safety and not a touchdown, and doubly bad when we didn’t score after getting the ball back

How does granderson not get that sack in the end zone?

I believe the old saying “It’s hard to win in the NFL”. I also believe it’s hard to lose 6 games in a row in the NFL also. I’m not sure of the numbers but I’m sure if you look back at the NFL since the merger it’s been far and few between that a team had lost 6 games in a row. This isn’t an expansion team, this isn’t supposed to be a rebuild. Mickey and Allen have pitched this team since Sean left as being a ready built contender. One of Allen’s first conference’s as the head coach those were his exact words. 3 years in this team seems to have gotten worse. We went from having an inept offense to now having and inept offense and a struggling defense. The only bright spot on or team is the rookie punter. It’s gone from bad to worse (I hate to pat myself on the back but a handful of us saw this coming). My black and gold love wants to believe my eyes and ears are wrong but 3 years in it’s hard to look beyond the results Mickey. The coach we pushed out for this bafoon is 5-3 with a rookie QB and said Rookie QB and coach came in and handed us a beating and we’re stuck with Mr Chopping Wood and Look Beyond the Results. I’m going to say this one more time for the guts and girls in the back. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.

Allen has a point when he says some of the defensive woes stem from the offense not being able to score points.

A few thoughts

  • Haener is better than Rattler. Haener seems very poised, which usually translates to growth over time as a pocket passer. He may actually be a candidate to build the future around. Bottom line, I don't believe any 2025 NFL Draft QB's would look as poised, and in command.
  • Jags are 2-6. Saints are 2-6. Difference is, the Jags are fighting for inches and keep games generally close. The Saints, do neither.
  • At the end of last season, the saints had locker room controversy. The 2012 Raiders had locker room controversy (See Carson Palmer). The Saints currently, and for the past month, have looked eerily similar to the 2013 Raiders (lifeless).
  • We're really not seeing anything different from last season. This season, we simply don't have one of the easiest schedules in NFL history, nor are we playing around half of our games against backup QB's which is a large reason why we finished 9-8.
  • Really confused, perplexed, and shocked that Loomis, with over a decade of a winning culture, would believe that trying to mimic the 2012-2014 Raiders would render winning results.
  • Even more confused, why we had a solid shot of cleaning up the cap this past offseason, Loomis thought it better to put the cap into more turmoil believing the team would compete for post-season.
  • After all the press conference's held by Loomis in the last 11 months, He must look in the mirror, humble himself and admit his mistakes, if the correct moves to turn the organization into a contender in the next few years are going to take place.

It's not that the team has quit.

The team just isn't that good.

We seemed to be one of the few teams that took preseason seriously, and we started the season a little more prepared than our competition. And no one had tape on our new look offense. So we looked better, everyone else looked worse.

But it wasn't real.

This is a bad team. We are right where we are supposed to be.

-It's only three starts, but I'm kinda/sorta concerned that Rattler might just be a tease. Legitimate skills and arm talent. He's just always came up short in the results category. Definitely not all on him. Part of it absolutely is the hype train and large expectations.
-The refs and announcers were atrocious yesterday.
He moves up in the pocket right into sacks. It's like he has no vision.

Things you don't do to a rookie QB

Put him in early
..... Ok they put him in early
Then you have to protect him
..... Nope, one of the worst offensive lines in football
Ok, then you're just gonna have to let him take his lumps and learn on the job
..... Nope, 2 games in a row you've pulled said rookie and inserted Haener to finish games possibly breaking his confidence even more than it already has been.

This coaching staff has shown time and time again to be incompetent. This is just it's latest example. They obviously thought Rattler was a better prospect than Haener. They keep Haener even though they clearly like Rattler better. If you think he's a better prospect you don't throw him to the wolfs, but they did. Then they've attempted to crush whatever confidence he may have left by yanking him two games in a row. DA is hands down the worst coach in football, problem is the man that hired him is still comparing him to Hall of Famers and looking beyond the results.
He got hurt last game. So they didn't yank him two games in a row. Your entire premise is off.

This is a safe space, let your hot takes (or cold hard facts) fly.

Chris Olave is the Keith Pool of Torrance Smalls. If he were to get traded, it would be for a mid round pick, and we wouldn’t miss a beat.

This team is poorly run, and will remain that way until Mickey and DA are put out to pasture. With a 6th straight loss, I wonder what platitudes Mickey will mumble out.

No quarterback will have success in this offense (with the oline in its current state)…but playing Taysom Hill at quarterback, and letting him run the ball 70% of the time would be more effective than Temu Mahomes and Seabiscuit.

I thought that this would be “The Chase Young game”, but instead it was just another Chase Young game.

Go oline early in this upcoming draft, and go oline often.
I would say Chris Olave is Brandon Cooks lite. Similar size and skillset, but not the receiver Cooks was when he was traded.

The Saints are officially a bottom feeder team 😢

The sad thing is that the front office can’t be trusted to optimally use the draft compensation that a bottom feeder team is awarded.

I thought that watching the game and focused on Pete~! After further review ; watching the game's television broadcast; Werner looked pumped and solid. Few bright spots to be sure....Once Heaner came in ? If not for penalties and dropped passes? Who knows? If you don't practice with the guy, it's hard to know how the ball is coming to you. Rookie McKinley for 'Bolts killed us too~!

This may not be the worst coached Saints team I've ever seen (and believe me I've seen A LOT of them since 1967) but it's in the top two!

I've always given the benefit of the doubt but I'm all out of those!

The only thing that Allen can do to save his job from this point would be to win a Super Bowl.................fat chance of that happening!

I can't even express the disappointment in this team!!
