How Excited Are You about the Upcoming Saints Season?

I am going to be optimistic because I am a Saints fan and want to see winning team, but like many others have said here: First, I just haven't been as emotionally invested since the 2019 NFCCG "no call" for my own mental / physical health. Second, I am not sold on DA at all. I wanted to see if he could keep the team on track in Payton's shadow with team continuity and that did not happen. Maybe, with a seemingly weak schedule, soft division, new QB, and maybe good luck with injuries we can have a winning season / division winner. But, I don't see anything that shows me DA has anything that is going to be sustainable. In my opinion, he's a placeholder coach (might have a good year here or there) until the bottom really falls out and Loomis / Benson have no choice but to move on with a complete rebuild.

I'm 100% stoked. The 2023 season is a 'new beginning' for the Saints, with Carr as the face of the franchise. I pay no heed to what happened during the 2022 season - a transition year for the franchise still carrying dead weight from CSP's reign. The team has now been re-shaped by Dennis Allen. The 2023 Saints are poised to make some noise in January/February 2024.

I was very excited until I saw Alontae getting burned in the slot all preseason and now know that he will be playing the slot in the regular season. If he couldn’t do it in the preseason I can’t even imagine what it’ll be like when the real bullets start to fly. And I believe Adebo will still have trouble covering the speedy outside receivers.

I've been excited and had mostly high expectations since 2006. I blame Drew and CSP for reversing the loser mentality that had inhabited the typical OG Saints fan. I'd have it no other way..
