How far would this team go with Dan Campbell? (1 Viewer)

I think Dan Campbell is a good coach who has been the right fit in Detroit. If the Lions struggle in the next few years to reach the Super Bowl, we can question whether Campbell is an elite coach.

But I happen to agree with Deuuuce above. Their general manager has done a very nice job. And their owner, Sheila Ford Hamp, is impressive.

Why torture yourself with this question?

It was never going to happen. We had Sean P and no indication that was going to end anytime soon.

Dan wanted to be a HC, and now is going to receive the same love we gave Sean P because he has brought that franchise back. If he continues to win he will be a walking icon in Detroit for eternity

And perhaps I answered a different question than the one that was intended. I took the question as just how good is Dan Campbell as a head coach.

7 straight Super Bowl championships.

The team would be so good that Congress would have to interfere and dismantle the team. We would win over 100 consecutive games and be the greatest dynasty ever in all of sports franchises.

How far would this team go with Dan Campbell?

I think it depends on how thick the wall they would have to run through is. He has that Lions team motivated on every level of the roster. That is much better than our players saying we lack identity.

A lot of people mocked his hiring after his press conference. Many people tried turning his hiring into a topic of racial bias, and even when he was filling out his staff people tried to discredit him. I’m happy for that team, and him in particular. He has turned a lot of people on their heads, and while some of those people don’t want to change their view on him, he is making those people look stupider by the minute.

I would love to see how far the Saints would go with a coach that the players obviously love to play for like the Lions obviously do in Campbell. Maybe he’d light a fire under Carr to go beyond his abilities and play better. Just a thought.
Depends on how much input he would have into picking the players. I love the fire he brings to the mix in Detroit.

Lions success is some what on Campbell, but its also on the amount of talent they got out of the Rams deal when they traded Stafford. Lets be honest, Lions would never win under Stafford, it worked out in L.A. because of the defense they had. Goff was probably and still is the better QB of the 2. I still think L.A. is crazy for trading Goff.
Stafford is the better QB, but I think Goff has actually had slightly a better career up to this point and has the potential to surpass Stafford in time.

Goff was very average in LA and we can blame that on a multitude of reasons, he still has some real head scratching moments but he’s a solid QB. Not “real good” or “great” but solid.

Stafford ranks in the top 12 of all-time in pass attempts, pass completions, passing yards and passing touchdowns, Stafford is currently fifth all-time in passing yards per game, 8th in most passing yards, and is the fastest player in NFL history to have reached 40,000 career passing yards. Stafford was a beast early in his career and if he didn’t go to the lions would have likely been a HOF in the right system. He will still get some votes for the Hall but not sure he’s done enough to get in

As far as Dan goes, as long as he’s surrounded by strong assistants he’ll be a strong coach. He’s more of a motivator than an Xs and Os guy.

I don't know, but watching his post game locker room speech after they beat the Rams, I was ready to get up off the couch and run into a wall screaming "Liooooooonnssss!"
