How much is the loss of 2nd round going to hurt (1 Viewer)

Here are our 2nd round picks in the past couple of drafts where we had a 2nd rounder: Charles Brown, Tracey Porter, Roman Harper, Josh Bullocks. Given the depth of defense in this draft it will hurt a little but not horribly. Loomis has had success getting gems in later rounds.

But the restructuring hurts the future of the franchise. I still dont get why Loomis and Payton are still so adamant about Smith and Vilma. We are carrying dead weight in them especially with the new 3-4 scheme ..

Loomis figures if we are still gonna pay Vimla and Smith if we cut them, so why not try to negotiate their salaries to a lower figure. They add leadership good depth even if they don't ideally fit in the 3-4. They would be better and probably cheaper options than their replacements would be.

I would rather screw our team is 5-7 years down the road rather than blow what we have is Sean and Drew now. Much the same way I would prefer a dollar now as opposed to a dollar tomorrow. The future holds too many uncertainties when the present is what we should be concerned with.

Not having a second still bothers me, but I have decided 'it is what it is' and it is not going to change. Clearly, it will have an impact on us as that is just one more opportunity to pick up a solid player that we will miss out on. It is particularly impactful as this is by all accounts a very deep draft and there will be some real quality well into the second round.

This team will move past this and do a great job scouting and brining in those undrafted sleepers that Loomis and company always seem to find.

We will miss out on players like Robert Woods, Alford, Rambo (maybe), Margus Hunt, Zavier Gooden, etc. Good players who could contribue now.

well when you look at trading up in the first to get ingram and losing those picks 2nd and first the next year, then losing two 2nd rounders too. yeah it's going to hurt.

judging form the first few rounds of players they have drafted before, it might be a blessing they dont pick there

It just puts pressure on us to find another gem late. It would also be nice to have some players from the last few drafts step up - Nick Toon, Charles Brown, Greg Romeus, etc.
