Hypothetical: If Moore said no, then what? (13 Viewers)

Good post.

I'll add that it is likely, imo, that the reason that Brady dropped out was due to sharing an agent with Moore. I believe the agent was aware of the Saints heavy interest in Moore and recommended that Brady should drop out as he was unlikely to beat out Moore. Again this is opinion based on at least a modicum of logic and a small amout of ear-to-the-ground.

It has probably been between Moore and Glenn right from the start regardless of media and/or fan prognostications.
Kinda like Glenn dropping out to interview with the Pats.... He already knew who the choice was. Probably no different here.

My thoughts (concerns) are that if Moore is the guy I’m good with it … But if the Eagles don’t play well in the SB, what happens then? … Sirianni has taken a lot of negative heat despite how well they’ve played this season. So if the Eagles get smacked in the SB, would the front office consider getting rid of Sirianni to keep Moore there?

Well, it would be the very first time a team fired a coach that got his team to the SB 2 out of the last 3 years....it would be utter insanity....

With McCarthy and others pulling out, I think its obvious an agreement has been made. If he pulls a Liam Coen on us then thats a real bad look all around. I don't think the Saints would have waited to interview McCarthy till the end of the week if it wasn't just to entertain the idea. If Moore said no on Monday, I think the Saints would be way more urgent in interviewing and throwing a bounty at McCarthy and not wait 4 days to do it.

If Moore does say no, then its throw everything you can at McCarthy to change his mind, or ride with Rizzi and take a hard look internally at why we had to settle with that.
You think that's possible?

Possible? I think so. Probable? no. I think at that point, anything is worth a shot. If they are honest with him and/or can frame it in a way that we had 2 top choices, Moore for A, B & C reasons and McCarthy for X, Y & Z reasons maybe you could convince him to change his mind. How comfortable is McCarthy to go without a salary for a year? I don't know if we'll see him in some kind of broadcast position like Payton did. Yeah its a hit to not be anyone's top choice despite his track record, but it could still work out in both party's favor.

My guess would be Rizz is the interim coach for one more season.
