I like Don Banks, but... (2 Viewers)

If the draft goes as Banks says, I would love to trade down with the bills. Buffalo would be interest in secure Lynch and they have extra picks now. I really would not see much drop in talent from #27 to #44 and the bills have two third rounders that can come to us.

I won't be at all surprised if the Saints move up for Revis. With the way FA has gone (every vet CB they went after chose to sign elsewhere) it's looking more and more likely. Add in the incredible success the last guy they traded up to grab had (Jamaal Brown) and I don't think they'll hesitate to move up. It might be expense but if they feel Revis is worth it they'll do it.....

The only WR the Saints are drafting in round 1 in Ted Ginn....don't be surprised if we take Blaylock or Grubbs in that spot, and I have no problem with that....WR is not a round 1 priority - not with the weapons that this offense already has...

I would love for us to move up for Revis. Unfourtantly Banks (correctly probably) has Revis going 15-20 and would be pricey for us to move up and get. It would take at least a 2nd and a 4th, probably a 2nd and a 3rd, to secure Revis. That's awfully expensive.

Considering who he has available, I think either Beason or Timmons would be solid picks. Both have potential as a WLB and MLB in the Saints scheme and give us some secruity/flexibility concerning Brian Simmons age. Plus I doubt any of us are sold on Shanle as a starter at WLB for the next 4 years. I like that they resigned him and am comfortable with him starting there next season, but he could be upgraded.

Also of interest would be Anthony Spencer (situational pass rusher/secruity for Charles Grant)

Given that position i'd love the Saints to trade down but i'm not sure how much value that position would have for anyone.

I would expect the Saints to attempt to trade up for either Hall or Revis if one of them fell to #16 or below.
According to one of the trade value charts I saw, our first and second picks would give us the ammo to trade up to #16.
If they were unavailable we would have identified trade partners from #17 to #26 to grab one of the other top CB's Houston, Ross or McCauley, if available.
Another option would be to move Charles Grant, although a draft day trade would not get us full value for him without a long term deal in place between him and another team. His $8M dollar cap hit would also be prohibitive unless the other team had a deal in mind that they'd be sure he would go for.
The next most likely position is WR with Meacham, Bowe, Ginn and Rice although with the current state of the roster I cannot see them not grabbing a CB with their first pick.

The Titans are going to give up a late 4th to move up to 15 and grab Revis.

It's science.

yep, pretty much the truth. If Revis is not there, I don't want the other CB's. I think we should draft someone like, Blalock, Weddle, Beason, even Staley, or trade down.

Chris Houston is the only other CB I would want.

For whatever reason this isn't popular around here but makes the most sense to me if the top CB's are gone. I've argued and no one can tell me who will start next to Colston next year. And as long as that's the case, WR in round 1 is a logical choice. And I'd be happy with any of the WR's listed above.

I agree, I would not be surprised if we drafted a WR in the first. However, if we do not get a quality CB with the pick I want the BPA no matter what he plays. I just think at 27 there will still be some great players to be had. Of course, the problem is identifying them. CB or BPA.
