Saints I saw some encouraging things despite this “heartbreaker.” 💔 (1 Viewer)

Plenty of bonehead mistakes, but

<> defense didn’t surrender a TD
<> Olave is money
<> Payton Turner got a sack
<> Revamped O-line held up decently
<> Saints are averaging 150 yds rushing/gm

The season is still young. This loss hurts, but keep the faith.

They been doing most of those things already. What they not doing is finishing games. They lost something like 9 out of ten games that came down to the wire.

This team needs a threat at TE badly. Imagine Bowers in this offense. Taysom being in is just another capable player on the field that isn't Moreau or Johnson. They're the definition of JAG.

Despite what the GAMEDAY board says I still like our chances and how the year goes. But there's nothing we can do when we beat ourselves..Shaheed should have never even sniff that punt, let alone call a fair catch at our own 2 yardline. Nothing we can do about a batted pass being popped in the air 40 feet and not a single Saint player to defend the Falcon player from catching and returning an INT TD..

Their offensive scored 0 TDs and we lost.

Despite the injuries on offense we still moved the ball and scored..the line could be better and hopefully with more practice they'll improve.

We're decades ahead of our team last year..so I'm looking forward to not beating ourselves again.

Not sure I totally agree, especially in the right side in the second half. We had some success running/passing to the left. They stuffed us more than enough times on the right. Made me screen when when they ran AK to the right on that 3rd down in the 4th quarter. I understand it was 4-down territory, but that okay should have never gone in the direction.

If there is a way to lose a game, the Saints will find it. I have been seeing these bonehead losses my whole life. (65 years) You can't make chicken salad from chicken droppings. Keep dreaming. This team is not very good. Still love them, but reality sucks.

Yep. If you had told me we'd gift-wrap TWO touchdowns to Atlanta I would've thought we'd lose 31-17 or so.

Of course, on the flip side, Philly tried as hard as possible to hand us the game last week and we somehow blew it.

I can't believe how frustrated I am be to 2-2 right now. Just a weird season so far.

So accurate. So, so, so, so accurate and describes my feelings perfectly.

We are a loser franchise. It's what we are. Regular season games don't mean anything when you crap the bed in the playoffs but we are crapping the bed in the regular season.

Johnson’s not even that. He has no awareness whatsoever on the field. The play he was backing up and was out of bounds he had nothing but open field in front of him. Too inconsistent . SMH

One silver lining is....we're not the Oakland Athletics.

IDK. DA coached teams just do not play with any consistency. After 2 impressive wins, they drop two in a row and do so by finding ways to lose. That's not a precipice for success. Only mediocrity.

Furthermore, the roster lacks depth, and every year, there seems to always be a plethora of injuries that plague the team.

At some point, some sort of rebuild needs to take place. This constant tinkering isn't working.

I thought there were some positives

We kept them out of the end zone

When it was 14-7 I was actually very encouraged

Two very long TD drives vs a fluke score, I thought we were well on our way to 30+ points

O line was much better than last week and Kamara and Hill both ran well

Things definitely changed after Taysom went out

After last week I though for sure Allen would have taken the field goal instead of going for it again on fourth

If we generate even a little pass rush I think we win. Cousins had all day to throw

All we heard all through training camp was how unblockable Chase Young was, Breese was going to take a quantum leap in year two

Cousins didn’t have a clean pocket he had a walled barrier

Like everyone else when Atlanta got the ball with a minute and no time outs I was expecting us to lose

Koo is a great kicker and as soon as they said it would be his career long and the longest ever in the stadium I knew there was no way he was missing that kick

Win or lose Atlanta is almost always close

Before the season everyone said the first 6 games were the hardest and as long as we were 3-3 we had a good chance to make some noise the rest of the way

First two weeks and being the talk of the league spoiled us and let us to expect a 15-2 cakewalk of a season

As disappointing as this game we almost won and it wasn’t as bad as last week and we almost won last week too

Your post isn’t pumping sunshine. It will be difficult for any WhoDat to refute the points you made.

Even more will agree after emotions come down a bit.

Only silver lining is that we have soooo many injuries rn. I don't think the first 2wks were a fluke and I DO think T. Hill is that important to our success on offense without a fully healthy OLine. He's just a matchup that has to be schemed for and allows Kamara to be less of the focal point of the Def. If we can get to midseason near .500 and get mostly healthy from our key players, we could, COULD, go on a tear to the end of the season. Not holding my breath tho.

This is what we have to look forward to as long as Dennis Allen is the coach.

Looking at the bright side of losses.
