I think this season has a better chance of resembling 2006 than being a down year (2 Viewers)

We are 1 legit CB away from having a super bowl contending team. If the Front Office really thinks this is a super bowl caliber team, then they absolutely have to get one via trade.

We now have several issues I wasn't anticipating when writing this. This is the year to see what we have in our QB's and build for next season. The only silver lining to all this mess, is that we have some key pieces coming back later in an extended season. If we can hold our heads above water and we can pull it together and get healthy at the right time who knows what we may be capable of.

This season is loaded with question marks, as we figured it would be. Any prediction made about this season's results can only be based on the track record of Sean Payton and the Saints organization. But when you keep in mind that until now that record always had Drew Brees in the equation, it now makes the outcome that much harder to predict.

Personally I think that Sean wants to prove that his record of success has less to do with Brees and more to do with his ability to coach and prepare a professional football team for each game & each season. We'll soon see.

I heard Amy Just talking on ESPN radio this evening on my ride home from work. She was asked what she thought the Saints bright spot was thus far heading towards the season. Her response was the OL.
I would certainly agree.

Another little nugget she threw out was a comparison of the QB's. Not sure if it entails one practice or combined.
Hill 3 TD's 3 INTs 70% comp
Winston 2 TDs 3 INTs 66% comp.

I figured I would mention it fwiw.

I'm more calm this year.. the last couple years were basically "Super bowl or bust" so going into this year makes me less stressed.

I'm thinking more 2000... lots of unknows with Jeff Blake, Aaron Brooks etc.. 2006 had that "Reggie Bush" energy and I was way more hyped

Y'all I'm just excited for a new chapter of Saints football. I don't care about playoff expectations, who's playing quarterback, whatever. I just want for our team to play hard and be fun to watch. There's a ton of gloom and doom about injuries, suspensions.. but sometimes I think folks forget who is leading this team, and how well we've performed in the face of adversity. Sean has grown so much as a coach, and I think he's got this locker room in a great place. We'll compete, just let it play out.
