...and given the "slim-pickins" with TE's (in the draft and FA's), do you think Coach Payton would allow him to try out again for the B&G?

For "newbies," Tank's son = former Saint Zach Hilton (TE for the Jets).

I believe he was waived not long after joining the Jets and is not currently on a roster. Do I have that wrong?

He was available for a long time during the year and the Saints did not pursue him despite our needs. Evidently, he does not fit what Payton is looking for in his system.

no, he isnt coming back and for good reason. he isnt a very good TE.

It's a shame the kid couldn't block better....he could have been in the Wesley Walls mold.....cuz the guy could catch the football and get open....

he caught alot of balls from Aaron Brooks and Todd Bouman.....I know Brees could have found him....too bad our system requires TE's to be great blockers....

Exactly... not a good TE? He catches better than a lot of WR's I know... (Stallworth,Copper, Henderson...)

The problem is he can't block... at least not as well as they would like...

Why not make him a Dallas Clark type H-Back?

Were you one of the guys who drafted him in the 5th round of your fantasy league?

I've never seen so many people be so wrong about something as most SaintsReporters were about both Hilton and Hass.

1. He can't block.

2. There's a lot of revisionism regarding his recieving. His last year here he dropped quite a few very important balls. He also didn't have the kind of body control and sense of body position you'd like to see from a tall reciever--remember his inability to catch the "alley oop" pass in the end zone, despite his ridiculous height?

3. Too many times after the catch, he lost the ball--either from big hits or from having the ball pulled out. It was true for both of the last two years, and if you recall, his last hoorah with Payton seemed to be in preseason, when he fumbled after a key catch.

He was promising, but when he had his chance last season, he was only decent, on a terrible team that was always playing from behind.

I'm hoping we draft Hawk or D'Brick, but maybe Bush will drop past the #1 pick.
