If Tank's son is waived... (1 Viewer)

Nice, the Hilton threads are back.

No doubt. It's time to let go. As previously mentioned, we cut the guy. We had a chance to pick him back up and we didn't. It's obvious that we don't want him.

I thought for a minute I was in a timewarp or the Twilight Zone..

That's what I thought when I saw the thread.

Zach can come up here and play some receiver for the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. They just signed Quincy Carter....Could use a receiver.

Were you one of the guys who drafted him in the 5th round of your fantasy league?

I've never seen so many people be so wrong about something as most SaintsReporters were about both Hilton and Hass.

saint michael(loki), I see that you have resurrected yourself from the world of the banned. :_rofl:

top notch guy, decent pass catching TE, liability when expected to be the guy that picks up the blitz or seal the end. Too bad though I like Zach.

1. He can't block.

2. There's a lot of revisionism regarding his recieving. His last year here he dropped quite a few very important balls. He also didn't have the kind of body control and sense of body position you'd like to see from a tall reciever--remember his inability to catch the "alley oop" pass in the end zone, despite his ridiculous height?

3. Too many times after the catch, he lost the ball--either from big hits or from having the ball pulled out. It was true for both of the last two years, and if you recall, his last hoorah with Payton seemed to be in preseason, when he fumbled after a key catch.

He was promising, but when he had his chance last season, he was only decent, on a terrible team that was always playing from behind.

I agree here. I was really high on Hilton and questioned Payton letting him go, but in hindsight, knowing that Payton has an eye for talent and has done so well his first year, these observations I think are accurate. It would have been different if he made an impact with the Jets, but it seems that he hit the glass ceiling so to speak in New Orleans. Maybe he can catch on somewhere and resurrect his career.

I really, really liked Hilton and his dad (Tank) still is part of the board, although I haven't seen him post much lately.

No! We want him with the Texas Copperheads! :) They will be playing at the Berry Center, which is literally in my backyard -- something to get me through to NFL time....
