If the 49ers were open to trading Kyle Shanahan (5 Viewers)

Shanahan is not coming to NOLA. They got hit with just as many injuries as we did this year. He and the GM are in good standing.
I was looking at it from a "what if" perspective. Maybe wishful thinking, but i'd take the opportunity.

I was going to bring this up a few weeks after I heard a few Niner folks discuss it. I decided not because I knew there would be pushback. Lol

You're gambling with the unknown. Kyle has a good record when it comes to making average QBs look good. I'll never forget how he made Hoyer looked like an All-Pro against us.
He's the reason for Atlanta's 28-3. While he's excellent with QB's, he's never going to win the big one, so that's a hard no for me dawg.

Would you trade a future pick for him? I'm all in for bringing Rizzi back, but I suspect the team will attempt to make a big move to try and bring hope back to the city.

Shanahan has been great, especially with good to average QBs. I believe Rattler can potentially turn into a pro-bowl QB under him and we'd also have a nice 1-2 punch with AK & Kendre Miller.
Give me one valid reason SF would be interested in trading Shanahan, then I'll entertain your query.

Bring K. Shannhan in as HC, Rizzi stays as STC /Asst HC... keep KK & Off coaches in place, bring in Vrabel as DC /Asst HC & keep the new DLine coach, reload rest of Def coaches....

Now have 2 former HCs, a former Interim HC, & a possible future HC... now everyone is pleased, & if it comes down to it they can Battle Royal in a cage for Supreme HC position šŸ˜‚

1. I am sure he has no interest in leaving San Francisco and going to the Saints of all places. I am afraid we are going to find that the Saints job is not one the top coaching candidates covet.

2. We cannot afford to give away draft picks for a coach, which would the Saints job even less attractive for coaching prospects.

3. I think Shanahan has done a good job in San Francisco, but he has had great talent to work with. I have been more impressed by the job John Lynch has done.

I'm not so sure about them being in good standing, especially Lynch. He has mismanaged the team horribly the past few years. They got really Lucky that Purdy was the man for about 20 games.

If not, Lynch would of been famously known for trading the farm on an extremely unknown QB that went Belly up in the most horrible fashion.
