If we had an avarage defense this season, how many "W's" for the season and would the season be over now? How far would our offense have carried the Saints?

How many times was the defense put in situations they had no business being in due to the Coach putting them in these situations ?
If it is a known fact that the defense was not that good, why put them in it.
3 and outs by the offense didn't help the D.
too much time on the field.

...too much time on the field.

Really?

Saints were ninth in the NFL in TOP. Looks like D time on the field was not a problem to me.

11-5 and still in it, just a average d might give us 4 more wins and the NFC south.

I agree wholeheartedly. 11-5 would probably be just about right. :9:

We need more balance. We need boths sides to show up in the game. We've been off balance too many games.

Said it in another post. With any sort of defense we are a 11-5 to 12-4 team.

its not that simple. How many points did the offense score against the Colts? 3. Then against TB they needed almost 3 quarters to score a TD and the game was already decided by then. Against the TItans and Panthers the Saints scored 14 and 13 points, just 10 against the Texans. You dont win too many games with 14 points or less. Against the Rams the Saints scored 29 points...with 22 coming in the fourth quarter when the game was long decided. Add the second TB game to the list of games where the offense didnt get the job done and you clearly see that you cant just point fingers at the defense.
