Look at all of these big named coaches out for sale to hire upon to field your team better to be a potential playoff threat throughout the foreseeable future, and what do you do about it? Just sit there? Napping? Or even worse, twirling around with your Atari joystick?!

Look at your archrival that's actually taking serious advantage for example, if they hire especially Harbaugh, then turn out the lights, because the party's over.

Change the culture. Clean the house, and make sure you dust off the tiny violin & the giant harmonica while you're at it.

And I don't want to hear about, "But it was a 9-8 season! Not 3-14!" I don't care. That was literally the easiest schedule we ever had in YEARS.

Remember when the Chargers fired their HC after a 14-2 season because they went one & done? Because that certain coach was a "bonafide playoff choker."

2024 won't be as so nice & promising. We'll be facing the NFC East & the very packed AFC West. That's WAY tougher.

How pathetic. And now we're just crossing our fingers, holding our hands for the worst-case scenario to not happen for the Saints. When we could ALSO set a new example by directing a better outlook for the future.

2009's 14-15 years ago, people. We can fire our OC who's been here for that long of a period, but not the bigger elephant in the room? Makes no forking sense!!!

We should've fired DA like how Atlanta fired Smith right after the game. Did you see DA's postgame interview after the game?!?! That was absurd!!! That would've been THE perfect time to sack his sorry arse.

Even the Raiders got it done recently. We are stuck in the past cheering for the same old tired assed commotion that doesn't work anymore.

Hire a coach that'll help & prove Carr that much better.

Yeah, this was a very unsuccessful season regardless of the record. No playoffs, easiest schedule like in 20 years, plenty of bad play, plenty of grudges, locker room lost, rudiculous statements over and over (explosive offense?! 😂)

Next year we’ll lose or get old at most veteran/leaders position, an OL in shambles, and… brace yourself, dramatically no cap space to get some much needed help other than the draft - unless, of course, we keep mortgaging our future.

This has “rebuild” written all over it, with a new coach who wants to win instead of chopping wood. One who’d be respected by the vets, to help him with lots of new young players we’d need. One who wants to install a new system and yes, a new winning culture, and finally turn the page.
Fresh air! This team clearly and badly needs that.

So maybe Harbaugh, Vrabel or BB would be the right guy, maybe not, what’s sure is that DA ain’t him.

…End rant

Well said.

I get the frustration, for sure.

For many of us of a certain age, though, it’s just the most recent instance of a cycle we’ve been through before. Been a long time, thanks to the success during the Payton/Brees era. But we’re here. An administration trying to make a coupla truly bad personnel decisions seem like it’s progress. I’m in agreement the schedule next year might well provide the decline needed to force them to make some systemic changes.

I think some of us are in denial about the team we have and how hard it is to build a winner especially after being a winner, the Patriots are about to go through it, the cowboys have been going through it since the 90's.

This team is going through a reshaping and though the casual fans wants to bemoan the people in charge of the change, change is coming and we just have to (those who are Saints fans) watch the moves and support the team.

I've been a member on this forum for years and I know there are a lot of people who follow this team year round and know what's going on and I know there are casual saints fans who only complain about the what ifs.

You’re inventing stuff to be mad at
No need, there’s plenty left over from last season
But to preemptively get mad at the beginning of a process seems like it should signal some self reflection from OP
Beginning of a process?!?!
You lost me there. Are we in the beginning stages of a process bc I must’ve slept through the past 2 seasons.

Are you typically this afraid of things in life?

So we’re casual fans because we don’t like what they’re doing.
K.
Makes no sense.

Beginning of our new OC process- yes
If we wind up hiring Gruden then OP’s anger is justified
But if we wind up with hot new OC and Atlanta gets a retread then we could very likely have made the better choice
