Saints Interesting options ahead? (1 Viewer)

Inability to get first downs? Did we watch the same game? The only play he hurt us on was the fumble. Cook and Lutz hurt us yesterday.

First downs in crunch time I should add. 4th quarter was not good to taysom. That's when brees is at his best. Taysom didn't play poorly, but we really need brees or the next time we won't luck out and win.

Taysom makes exciting plays and he can score for us, but his consistency and mistakes at crunch time make me very nervous. He was so lucky he didn't lose that game for us yesterday. Those 2 fumbles were back breaking and his inability to get first downs really hurt us. So thankful that the defense stepped up.
On the 3rd and shorts Payton is overusing the designed QB run...

On the hill plays in the past I've never been a fan of drew going out side and just standing there. Need to either do something with that or take him out altogether for a player that has an option. It's 9 on 11 when he just stands out there.

I edited my original post to better express my opinion. I am not trying to say that Hill should be the starter over Brees. He is a dual threat however and I believe that Hill has shown enough to allow Payton to more confidently create offensive game plans that take more advantage of his skill set and in turn, make it a lot more difficult for opposing teams to prepare.

teams now know that he can pass so when he goes back to the role he carries when Drew is in charge, most of his runs and gadgets should be a whole lot more effective. I have always felt like there are plays for him that Payton won't call unless we are in a must win or playoff situation. Those plays have now either expanded or if they didn't exist, do now.

Not really. Drew was performing at a much much much much higher level than Hill. When he’s ready he’s the QB. If he wants to come back next year, he’s the QB.

While I think this has been great for Hill and has helped Payton sharpen his tool, the QB situation hasn’t really changed in the slightest.
This would be absolutely correct.

I would say Taysom was bad in the 4th quarters of both Atlanta games. When you turn the ball over with a 2 score lead, that's unacceptable. He did it both times.

But they are not. They’ve lost 3 games late where they had 96% or more win probability. They are actually much better than their record.

Bahahahaha that’s exactly what makes them bad. It’s amazing how some people can say things like this and claim to understand the game.

Lol, except they are. Anyone who says they aren’t a bad football team can’t be taken seriously.

Nah.

They’re mediocre. They are one of only 8 teams in the NFC that has a positive point differential. They have a potent passing offense which was our Achilles heel at the beginning of the season.

The Jets are bad. Jaguars? Bad. Falcons are dangerous and a division rival. Beating them twice in three weeks is an accomplishment. And Taysom doing what he did against the same defense in that amount of time was impressive (until the fumbles, lol).

They are pretty average and capable of beating pretty much anyone. They are far from bad.
