Is Philly a Serious Threat?
I agree with all you said but that is my point, in the end what really matters is simply points allowed and yes ravens still statistically have the best points defense allowed but they kept teams to low scores earlier in the year. I think if you look at the last ten games or so, Dallas has the best scoring defense in the league.Dallas does not have the best defense in the league. They're good, but Baltimore is ranked #1. Dallas' secondary has been picked apart a couple times. Their strength tends to be in holding teams down in points. They rank badly on turnovers.
I am probably the only person on this board who actually likes Dak Prescott as a QB, but as long as Garrett is his coach, he isn't going to light the league up any time soon.
The right coach could turn that defense into a powerhouse, along with re-tooling Prescott into being the better QB he showed promise in being with his rookie year. But as long as Garrett is there, that's not going to be happening.
I agree completely. Their offense especially on the road is below average, nothing to fear from this Chicago offense even in Chicago. I see them putting up maximum 13 points in the dome. The Bears have a great D but that offense isnt that good esp on the road. Trubinsy is a game manager that has a great D to give him extra possessions. Heck the Bears offense looked terrible vs the 9rs today. In the dome you have to play perfect as we saw today. The Bears and Mitch are not that team.
I don’t know why people fear Chicago, yes they have a great but not super defense (giving up 30 points to the giants is not a super defense), but they have no offense on the road. Even with a good defense you still have to put up some points. Cowboys have a similar problem but they can drain time of possession (leads the league in time if possession), dak can make plays with his feet and they have the best running back in the league so at least they have the potential to do damage.I agree completely. Their offense especially on the road is below average, nothing to fear from this Chicago offense even in Chicago. I see them putting up maximum 13 points in the dome.
What the cowboys do on defense is pretty simple. They don’t get a lot of sacks but put enormous pressure as we saw against brees even if they don’t get a lot of sacks. They have a bend don’t break attitude on defense making one try to drive up and down the field settling for field goals while their offense drains the time of possession. In the end, the only statistics that matter for defense is how many points one allows in a game.I agree with all you said but that is my point, in the end what really matters is simply points allowed and yes ravens still statistically have the best points defense allowed but they kept teams to low scores earlier in the year. As a saints fan, the three teams I don’t fear at all in the dome are the Vikings, rams, and bears. The Vikings are a really average team. The rams even at their best, we beat them by ten and they are a worse team now than when we played them. Seattle somewhat based on Wilson’s playmaking ability. So the only team I fear is the only team that already showed they can beat us.I agree completely. Their offense especially on the road is below average, nothing to fear from this Chicago offense even in Chicago. I see them putting up maximum 13 points in the dome.
I watched the coach’s tape. They held somewhat but mostly it was within the five yard limit. Objectively, the officiating that game was very bad on both sides. What I watched in the coach’s tape was that we lost the trenches in that game and that was the only team that was able to do that to us something Baltimore wasn’t able to do. I think a lot of us are discounting that Dallas is probably our biggest threat because 1) they already beat us regardless of poor officiating etc. we already beat the other teams except Chicago heading to the playoffs and 2) nothing is wrong with brees as we saw in this game and nothing was ever wrong with him but Dallas has the blueprint because of their personall to beat us and our receivers. That carries over to road games also. 3). We all make fun of Dallas but the reality is besides us, in the last seven games they are the only team to have gone 6-1 also and their loss to Indy was a game they had nothing to play for and rested some key all pro offensive tackle like Tyrone smith. I am just going by facts of what team beat us and how we got beat. I am not saying they will beat us in the dome but it will be a slugfest.Let me say that the Cowboys will not be able to play us the same way again. They absolutely mugged our WRs and nothing was called. You cannot do that on the road in the dome and get the no calls. Again it was on display tonight. Home cooking is a thing with the officials.
I think we will beat them in a rematch but it will be our defense that wins us that game and holds dak and zeke to 17 points in a possible rematch showdownI watched the coach’s tape. Awwwww Getting nervous?
The Seahawks are in.
Minnesota has to win next week against the Bears, which they could do if Chicago rests their starters. They most likely will if the Rams win today, which would give them nothing to play for next week. They aren't getting a bye week if the Rams beat a bad Cards team.
In my predictions, I have us facing Seattle and then Chicago for the NFC title game. Dallas isn't winning a playoff game, no way. Jason Garrett is still the head coach, so you can bet on them finding a way to screw it up.
