Is This The Kind Of Parity The NFL Envisions (1 Viewer)

Well the usual are at the top, Pats, Pack, Broncos...

And last year, the Seahawks were the NFC Champions. The Ravens were the 2012 champions and now they're 1-5. The only team that has stayed consistent the past 15 years is New England.

ok let me rephrase that, the usual elite QBs whom we all hear are better than Brees from day one are all at the top:hihi:

Yet before last year, when was the last time any of them won a superbowl?

Just 1 year after us.......

21 teams at .500 or less with 19 of those having losing records. Just not very inspiring to me.
Is revenue, profit, viewership, engagement in FF are all up then that’s what they want.

Objective quality of the game will be secondary. It’s an entertainment business and by all the metrics to them the business is successful.

Other than Detroit, KC, and Balt, the rest of the of the NFL.is mired in mediocrity. That is a more suitable word than parity for 2024

I think the parity they envisioned is that every team can be less than five seasons from a championship.
And it’s proven to be true.

You are half way through the seasons and you have 10 teams that are play off tier. 10 that are around .500 and deluding themselves. And about a dozen that are playing for draft position because they are unwatchable.

Big issues leading to this boring state of attrition. Not enough quality QBs. Not enough quality OLmen. Bad refereeing.

QBs - QBs have become a lottery. They are not being developed well in general. There is no way for young medium talents to get the reps to be competent.

OL - No two a days. Colleges don't play a pro system. On the whole they are not doing a very good job.

Refereeing - they need to move towards an eye in the sky that can reverse any play without a challenge like college - it currently is so inconsistent it looks corrupt

The NFL would ideally want to have every franchise still in the playoff mix late into the season so as to keep the national fan bases emotionally involved with their favorite team to the bitter end.

If it were possible for every team to be at 8-8 going into the last week of the regular season schedule, that would be a dream come true for the league.
