Brees his final two and half years couldn't throw well downfield any more. Outside of Kamara and MT and occasionally Hill, the Saints lacked offensive weapons. The fact N.O got that far those years was a great job by Payton and Drew

Always cracks me up that "Brees can't throw well downfield" has become a universal answer for why the Saints lost any playoff game after 2018. I'll assume someone forgot to tell the teams they were playing and defeating 11 to 13 times a season that they shouldn't have been losing games to the Saints. Because deep pass reasons.

Had the “no call” not happened, who knows where this franchise would be. I think we beat the Patriots in the Superbowl and Brees retires on top, before his arm gave out. We do free agency and the draft totally different, with no Brees, and we minimize his loss, by not kicking the can down the road with “win now contracts” rather than whatever this has been we have dealt with the past 3-5 years.

If we had not been robbed and won the Super Bowl against the Patriots with Brees retiring on top then maybe we do end up with Brady whenever he leaves the Patriots. We would have had to survive without him or Brees for what just one season?

Regardless of no call or not, I think if Brees would have stepped away a few years earlier then we could have definitely won 2 championships with Brady and maybe a late three peat with him. I mean we swept the Bucs in a dominating way when they did have Brady, our defense was that legit. Maybe we go almost undefeated with Brady one of those years. I'm sure we would have also had some vets willing to join for cheap to go on a run with us as well if we had Brady
