N/S Jaguars released WR Christian Kirk (10 Viewers)

I don't see why you wouldn't consider it if the price is right. Won't be dirt cheap, but surely more reasonable than his last bloated contract. He's got talent, no question. Injuries are another matter.

Really feel like for where we are as an organization, we have got to stop taking these types of risks for a bit.

A strong history of health and availability have to be viewed as a premium necessity for the guys we sign IMO.

We have been burned in the injury department way too much lately.

I'm with you and prefer we focus on players who have remained relatively healthy, but risk is always countered by cost. If the price is right, perhaps the risk is low enough to make sense. I don't see either lining up frankly.

Yes that makes perfect sense. You can always get a guy on a low-risk high-reward type of deal that could pay off big, so you're certainly right about that.

A lot of players are going to get cut in the coming days. A number of them will be WRs. Can we maybe not have to have a 'Bring him in?' thread for Every. Single. One?

Think everyone is just starved for news and something new to talk about after talking in circles for weeks. It should taper off here in the next week once the market is fully open and it becomes more about who we’re actually visiting with/targeting.

The poster child for what having TOO much cap space does to you…forces you into a bunch of bad deals.

No lies detected, you are right but - if you are contexting that as a "lesson" to the Saints and the fanbase, it's a canard.

No one wants that here. I want a cap/dead cap with some balance and flexibility to add a legit piece to the roster, not just some stopgap depth signings of mediocrity. No more groin-punch garmongous balloon payments over many future years. A one-off happens, sure. We want contracts that are not so bastageized such that cutting a guy yields no savings for cap over dead cap. Loomis is a spender, a low-baller to the Pierre Thomas' of the world, and not a saver, right?

Vet minimum has entered the thread. Anyone want to go look at AAV first before reflexively low-balling dudes?

Now if you are out to entertain in low-balling dudes, than maybe roll out....

We must sign Christian Kirk, but we must not pay him anything beyond one extra plate per week in the spiffy new teria, discount on practice gear, and a handful of visits to DeShaun's born-female-at-birth masseussies.

Kirk will be one of the best out of the WRs getting cut before the start of the league year. Probably one of the best FAs overall regardless of position. He's worth a thread.

Xtian Kirk imo has underperformed his talent and contract. We need guys who keep DC's eyelids open late into the night.

AAV would be incrementally south of $18M per. 🤣

Erik McCoy's status as the only Texum Fightin' Aggie on our team seems secure.

Would you prefer Kirk or Olave? Personally I'd prefer Kirk. Not sure that I'd trade for him but agree with others who have said the injuries aren't likely something to limit him moving forward unlike Olave's. I wouldn't sign Olave to a 2nd contract

We will need to decide on fifth year options for both Olave and Penning by May.

Projected amounts:

Olave $15.5m
Penning $16.7m
