The Saints have been acquiring talent on the defensive line quietly since last year, adding Ryan Glasgow, Albert Huggins, Jalen Dalton, Josiah Bronson, and Lorenzo Neal, Jr.

Jalen Dalton was a player who got mentioned last year as to having a good camp before an injury sidelined him (per Nick Underhill) but I never really recalled hearing his name, but I did some digging and see this is a 6'6 300lb DT from NC and is 23yrs old.

We speak about guys like Roach and Tuttle getting an opportunity to contribute but what about this guy, he appears to be a good under the radar contributor to the Defensive Line rotation.

How is North Carolina getting so many stud players lately? Dalton, the 2 RB's, this year, the WR Dyami Brown, the QB is supposed to be a high 1st rounder next year.

The fact the Saints traded Brown and let Rankins walk and did not aggressively try to find a replacement makes me wonder just how much of a freak Dalton looked like last season in camp. Is this our 2021 camp beast?

Well they will all have the opportunities to show what they have this season. The DT position next to Omenyata is open and up for grabs so it’s on them to go get it.

Mack Brown has done a nice job of building U.N.C Football back to where it was when he was first there in the 90s.

In Texas he was known as an excellent recruiter. Now hes doing the same thing again at U.N.C

Looks to me like he's more of a DE than a DT.

6'6 34" arms isn't bad especially with a 4.81 40.
Well...just going by that first clip that was posted, I'd say he has to work a little on his get-off. He was making the Trey Hendrickson-plays where he just exerted effort longer than the guy trying to block him, and I get that 6'6"-300 is a big boy, but those other big boys all seemed to get a better jump on the snap.

Another player they added last year that nobody knows much about is Marcus Willoughby. Info and numbers on him are kind of mixed. If most of those numbers are good, we may have another gem.

Those are linebacker numbers.

That 10 yard split is ridiculous and his 4.45 40, 7. flat 3 cone, and 38" vertical at 260lbs Is incredible.

I'd try him at all 3 linebacker positions just like I recommended for Jayson Oweh around draft time.

Color me intrigued.đź‘Ť

He is indeed listed as a linebacker now on the roster.

Just look at that Burst in action. Wow.

The last Linebacker that I can remember that big with a 10 yard like split like that was Brooks Reed but I think that Willoughby might be even faster.

If he can show his explosiveness and speed in training camp, We may just have us a real good find here. I'm really pulling for this guy and the battle at LB will be interesting to say the least.
