Comparing Milroe to Hurts is an insult to Hurts. Milroe was still surrounded by crazy amounts of talent and still put up one of Bamas worst seasons in like 20 years. Hurts made the Natty

Milroe’s team was not as talented as Hurts’ was. Any Bama fan would tell you that. Btw, was the GOAT the coach for Bama last year? No he wasn’t

Can't read a defense has no touch in the shirt to intermediate passing game and overthrows a lot of receivers. Doesn't go through progressions. All he can do is throw a good deep ball.

I'm not sure I'd want him with any other OC/HC, but CKM just won a SB with Hurts who was very similar in college.

I definitely was impressed by JH this season, but honestly not sure they would have won it without that front 4 and the best RB in the NFL.

1. Accuracy issues when the game speeds up as a rookie has disaster written all over it. Especially for a rookie short and intermediate throws are going to be your bread and butter and you struggling with that.

2. Turnover prone (nuff said)

3. He struggled in college football(people forget he was benched last year) and the plan is speed the game up, close the throwing windows, and exponentially increase the difficulty. LOL! I'll stop there.

A lot of talk lately about Jaxson Dart but I wanted to get a feel for the boards opinion on Jalen Milroe from Alabama in terms of being picked at say 40(ADP on nfldraftbuzz is around 47) so he’d be right in that range. He could possibly drop to 71 but that might be a bit risky.

The more I read about him and more I watch I am admittedly more intrigued and curious about him.

He throws a beauty of a deep ball and we have guys who can take advantage already.

This. As a QB, talking about Milroe is heartbreaking. He should be a UDFA as a QB, slipping past all 7 rounds. It kinda goes to show how cut throat some of these college coaches are. They all knew Milroe had zero future as QB at the next level but continued to train him there to fit their run game narrative which only works in college (and not consistently, as we saw Alabama's offense struggled a lot when Milroe's running was contained). In truth, he should've been a WR, or RB in college. He likely would've found some measure of success in the NFL. But it seems far more probable that even if (more like when because someone will gamble on him) he gets drafted, he's not long for the NFL at all. I think he'll end up bouncing from team to team as a camp body before the end of his rookie contract. I'd be really happy for him though if he somehow magically flourished with a move to RB or WR, but its not going to happen at QB.

I really started liking Milroe in 2023. But that item above, validated recently at The Senior Bowl, seems like way too much of a red flag developmental risk for a team that is expected to dramatically raise its talent evaluation. Milroe's 2024 was a big trajectory disappointment.

As for Hurts' passing talent, he improved greatly at OU throwing to CeeDee Lamb and Hollywood Brown, and away from Tua's college shadow.

I dont know about Milroe. He’s got all the physical talent in the world, but he seems to be missing the above the neck talent necessary to be a QB1. Like some have already stated, maybe draft him to replace Taysom as our hybrid offensive weapon who runs, catches & passes. But as a flat out QB, Milroe is a lesser version of Anthony Richardson, who’s developing into a real buster in Indy. Hate this QB class, but if i were to draft a guy, id take Kyle Mccord from Syracuse.

NOT SAYING HE’S TOM BRADY, NOPE, im not saying that at all. Dont know if Mccord has or can develop the IQ &/or above the neck acumen as Brady, but his mechanics, quick release & play style are very reminiscent of TB12. Mccord took a major leap transferring from OSU to Syracuse. Even w/all those playmakers on O, he wasnt clutch & seemed to lack playmaking ability at OSU. Mccord played well, but he seemed like an odd fit in their system.

At Syracuse, they literally let Mccord off the leash & he unlocked his big play ability in a major way. Mccord became a legit game breaker w/a less talented group of playmakers. What’s more, is he was able to elevate & maximize the talents of his receivers Pena, Jackson Meeks & Oronde Gadsen Jr. Save for Gadsen, who was hurt in 23, they were all non-factors before Mccord was their QB. Lequint Allen was already established, but he even leveled up in the passing game w/Mccord.

Of the QBs available in this draft, i think the sleeper hit could very well be Kyle Mccord. I wouldnt be mad if we rolled the dice on him at some point. Honestly, if we drafted him, id be just as excited about Mccord as i am w/Rattler.

That's why I thought he could fill Taysom's role until he developed (or not).

I haven’t seen one comment from him during his years at Alabama that would suggest he would consider such a role.

I understand that the guy wants to be an NFL QB, but he is limiting his career ceiling if he insists upon it. He's a good athlete and if smart would be selling himself as an all around football player that can do many different things. Because he's just not a good enough passer to work in the NFL as a full time QB.

And I know some people talk about how he could be a Taysom type player, but I'd rather have Riley Leonard for that role and you could take him WAY later. The guy had almost as many rushing TDs as passing TDs for Notre Dame.

Has phenomenal movement in and out of the pocket. Has NFL arm strength and touch,but his accuracy scares me off. He also seemed to have a lot of "down" games.
