N/S Ja'Marr Chase sounds freakishly similar... (6 Viewers)

They’ve got a real problem because their other great receiver Higgins doesn’t seem happy either. A lot of wasted talent there in Cinci.

Just to clarify ignoring does not equal inability to improve, they've drafted a few since Burrow has been there, but seemed to have missed thus far.....

That's what's frustrating when talking to people about filling holes on a team. The draft isn't some one stop shop to pick up items. Just because you draft a player, it doesn't mean you can pencil them in for 7 to 10 years. Heck, sometimes you get a free agent that doesn't work out, but definitely with the draft. Investing draft picks doesn't equal problem solved.

You know my initial post was refuting the false narrative that the Bengals were still neglecting the OL, right? None of that draft pick odds soapboxing offered by another was relevant to me, either. The article had clearly stated that almost all additions along the OL were via free agency.

You guys must be under 30 or something because there was a time when WRs were routinely called divas. This was way before the scorn directed toward MT. TO, and MT's uncle Keyshawn make these young guys look passive.

Look around the league for the past, well, I don’t know, however many years. Clock management and finishing games are two areas where teams struggle more than succeed. I think it’s human nature to “take your foot off the gas” so to speak when you feel like something is coming to an end in your favor. Focus, alertness, instinct, all start winding down, and you start coasting. Let’s go into “Prevent!!!!” although we have numerous examples of that style of defense biting teams in the arse. I believe the prevent defense invented “garbage time points and yards”, but I digress.
Anyway, I think the teams that finish consistently play the fourth quarter with respect to their opponents. They make sure there is no comeback opportunity.
I agree with everything you said except for your human nature quote. You gotta make sure your opponent is "dead", you never take your foot off the gas until they are dead. If we were talking about hunting, it's absolutely human nature to keep your foot on their throat until they die. You don't let up just because you WILL succeed some seconds in the future. Nothing is guaranteed.

Absolutely true....the draft is still a crapshoot....the upside of the draft over FA though is huge....much cheaper for a few years and possibly a long term starter......if you hit......

I'm now thinking that people running to rep and slobber each other hadn't bothered to read it.

Ok, sorry for the lack of relevance?

Whether by draft or FA, they haven't found the right combination of guys, and TBH I don't care enough to respond to your lame condescending remarks....

Twist it any way you want.

Bottom line is the Bengals had spent 2 firsts and signed 3 FAs in an attempt to improve the OL. My post was intended to disagree with another stating the OL was "criminally neglected." The Bengals are trying, and that's that.

You folks then decided to crank up your condescending slurp fest for your own reasons.

If the Bengals had a solid defense, that team would be scary good...

???? I honestly don't get what you are talking about here, but no matter.....the Bengals may have tried but they have mostly failed building a good oline....

So you actually did care enough to respond.

Msg me for any further interactions on this matter. I could then tell you what I'm really thinking.
