Jaxson Dart met with Saints before Pro Day ; Saints work out Kyle McCord & Hunter Dekker

I second this. Don’t take a QB in the 1st just to do it. Stay the course and let the draft come to you. I will officially go on record and say that Dart will be a bust. Not just any bust, but a huge one.

If the Saints pick a QB in the 1st round, I don't think they will pick one just to do it. If they pick one, I think it'll be because they think QB was more worthy of the pick than anyone else. They may make a mistake in evaluation, but I don't think they'll make the mistake of reaching out of desperation.

I have no idea what Moore thinks and will cheer for whoever he picks at 1.9.

Still though, pick 9 seems too early for Dart in my opinion. I saw him play a handful of games last year and he looked great in a couple of games (especially UArk), up and down against LSU, and crazy bad against USCe and Florida (especially his last few drives with the game and playoff bid on the line).

I’d be happy with Dart @9 if Moore likes him. I think there’s a realistic shot he goes top 10. Been saying that since January. Nice to see the media catch up.

This is something I have always found funny about the draft process.

People take these media publications as gospel. If nothing was different about Dart’s play and the media had been telling everyone for months that this guy was a top 5 pick type of player, no one would be batting an eye at him being taken at 9.

But since he wasn’t, and he’s now “Rising up the boards” the way the media spins in, people hate the idea of grabbing him earlier than the media overlords said he should in the beginning of the process. It’s officially deemed a “reach” now to them.

Works in the opposite direction too. Every year there is a player that the media overlords have been pumping up as a top 15 to 20 player and they’ll still be there in round 3 and people will be champing at the bit at this “Falling” prospect that would be a steal (and generally these types of guys rarely pan out and it becomes clear that there was a reason he “fell”).

Mykel Williams looks like a great prospect for the "falling player that was originally projected top 10". He screams bust to me and has since last October. My head was spinning in confusion when I discovered mock experts were labeling him a top 10 pick.
